Disney just announced this week that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida is now eligible for FastPass+. So vacationers who will arrive at Disney World on or after February 19 will be able to select FastPasses for that attraction. But this news has left many wondering, When will Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disneyland in California be eligible for FastPass? Here’s what Disney has to say.
According to a recent report by local southern California news source the OC Register, Disneyland officials said that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will continue operating with a standby queue only. Even though the attraction (as well as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance) is set up to accommodate FastPasses and it has been open since May 31, 2019, at this time it will continue to operate only with standby and single rider options, as Rise of the Resistance continues to operate with a virtual queue.
If you’re unfamiliar the Millennium Falcon ride at Galaxy’s Edge, here’s what you need to know. The two attractions at the Star Wars land at Disneyland (and at its twin at Disney World) are basically a Star Wars fan’s dream come true. While the wildly popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is truly the E-ticket attraction of the two, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run allows guests to fly the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, something that only our heroes in the Star Wars films got to do…until now.
Here’s an official description of the attraction, courtesy of the Disneyland website:

Will your mission succeed or fail? It’s up to you—find out if you have what it takes to outmaneuver the odds aboard the Millennium Falcon.
Get ready to punch it!
Guests and Disneyland fans are also wondering when Disney will open the FastPass line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. So far, there’s very little word on that, as Disney has mentioned that Disney World won’t be getting FastPass for Rise of the Resistance anytime soon. As of now, it’s unclear when either of the attractions will become FastPass eligible at Disneyland, but we’ll be sure to continue to update Inside the Magic as soon as more information becomes available.
For now, take advantage of the manageable wait times at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disneyland, which typically range between 40-80 minutes. And if you want to ride Rise of the Resistance, read all about the virtual queue boarding groups here.
Do you think Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disneyland needs FastPass, or is a standby queue acceptable? Would you rather have Rise of the Resistance or Smugglers Run get FastPass first? Let us know in the comments!
