Anyone is welcome to participate in the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which runs from January 8 through January 12 and will be presented by Cigna. Haven’t signed up yet? Head to runDisney’s website and register. Both runners and spectators are welcome to join in on the excitement, especially during this season’s weekend, which promises to be the best runDisney event so far!

. The Marathon will begin at 5:00 a.m., instead of the usual 4:30 a.m. During this season’s marathon, the course will take runners through Blizzard Beach Water Park, and more time will be spent inside Epcot’s gates than in previous years. There will also be much less time spent using roads outside of the parks.

There will be even more fun at this season’s Marathon Weekend with a new exclusive area outdoors where participants can stretch, take photos, take a break and pick up their gear. This is a great new perk that we think a lot of runners will appreciate.

There will be ChEAR Squad packages that offer access to the finish line for spectators, as well as the popular spot for viewing at Magic Kingdom. There will be other perks for spectators; however, access to the open-air runner’s experience will not be granted to spectators.

We are awaiting news about the on-sale dates for those ChEAR Squad packages and for the open-air runner’s area and we’ll update you with that information as soon as it becomes available from our friends at runDisney.
