Disney says "The Simpsons" are coming to D23 Expo this summer - Inside the Magic

Your favorite Springfield residents are making their way to Anaheim, CA this summer! Disney just announced that “The Simpsons” will be coming to D23 Expo 2019 this August, and here’s everything we know so far.

Ever since Disney acquired Fox earlier this year, we’ve been itching to know what that means for Fox franchises like “The Simpsons.” Disney has assured fans that “The Simpsons” (known around the world as the longest-running primetime scripted show in television history) is here to stay on Fox, and it will even be available for streaming on Disney+ when it launches this November. So we’re not surprised that Disney has made the decision to welcome “The Simpsons” to the ultimate event for Disney fans this summer. After all, why wouldn’t the company want to bring as many people as possible to D23 Expo? The Disney, Lucasfilm, and Marvel fandoms have already collided as past D23 Expos, so it looks like it’s finally time for Fox fans to get in on the Disney magic, too. 

“The Simpsons” team (including creator Matt Groening, Executive Producer Al Jean, Executive Producer Matt Selman, Supervising Director Mike B. Anderson, and stars Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith) will all be in attendance at D23 Expo this year, and we’re so excited to share the details with all of you “Simpsons” fans. You can catch “The Simpsons” panel on Saturday, August 24 at 10 a.m. in the D23 Expo Arena, where the creative team and stars will be discussing the upcoming seasons, revealing some big surprises, and even handing out an exclusive “The Simpsons” collectible item for every panel attendee. You may even have the chance to meet creator Matt Groening and the other panelists during a one-hour autograph session immediately following the panel. How awesome is that?

But even if you don’t have tickets to attend D23 on Saturday, you can still soak up all the “Simpsons” fun on the convention floor all weekend long during D23 Expo.  Previously, one of the only places “The Simpsons” fans could meet their favorite characters from the TV show was at Universal Studios. But not anymore, because now that Disney has acquired Fox, life couldn’t be better for fans of “The Simpsons.” D23 Expo attendees will have the opportunity to meet and greet with Bart, Lisa, and the rest of their family, something that you could never experience at a Disney event before. The future’s looking bright in Springfield, and we’re excited to see some of the most hilarious characters on television making an appearance at the most anticipated Disney fan event of the year.
