It’s no secret that some Disney fans take their love of magic down the aisle. Disney-themed weddings have become increasingly popular over the past decade or so, with the accessibility of inspiration all over the internet and social media. This Jacksonville couple had one of the most magical Disney-themed weddings we’ve seen yet, probably because all of the bridesmaids were dressed like Disney Princesses.
Taylor and Ryan Chewning tied the knot on May 17 at Jacksonville’s local Bowing Oak’s Plantation. The setting was fit for a magical day, with a twisting tree straight out of an animated movie and picturesque lighting that painted everyone like royalty. The pictures make this wedding look straight out of a storybook, but we wonder how they decided on a Disney-inspired theme for their big day. The two were recently interviewed by local Jacksonville news station News4Jax, and they discussed how Taylor and Ryan’s love for Disney came to be. Here’s what Taylor had to say:
“My love for Disney started when I was a child. My parents took me often and raised me with Disney stuffed animals, clothes, bed sheets, curtains, snowglobes, etc.
Ryan’s love for Disney started when he met me. Ryan said he realized he truly loved me was when we were watching the fireworks together at the Magic Kingdom. While I was busy looking up at the sky he looked at me in a whole different light. Seeing my eyes light up, a huge smile on my face, and with tears in my eyes, as I watched the sky fill with color. That’s when Ryan knew he loved me.”
After reading about their Disney love story, it’s no surprise that the Chewning couple wanted a Disney-themed wedding: Ryan proposed to Taylor in front of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World, a dream come true for many Disney fans. And now that we’ve seen the photos of their magical day, we can’t wait to share them with you. Take a look at all of the Disney-inspired elements of the Chewning wedding, from Disney Princess bridesmaid dresses to more obscure references to classic Disney movies.
