Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
The second attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will let guests join in on an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. This fearful battle will also include a face-off with Kyle Ren himself.
Both of these new experiences, paired with the land’s interactive components and integration with the Play Disney Parks app, will invite guests to become galactic travelers and live their own Star Wars stories in a galaxy far, far away.
Another exciting detail revealed from this update is that Academy Award winner John Williams will be creating original Star Wars-themed scores exclusively for the themed lands. Below are some images shared from the event showing Williams in action while recording the intergalactic music.
Guests will be able to experience these attractions for themselves and Galaxy’s Edge original scores when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at the Disneyland Resort next summer and at the Walt Disney World Resort in fall 2019.
Star Wars Resort
During the presentation, Chapek also revealed a sneak peek of the coming Star Wars resort coming to Walt Disney World, to be located outside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Chapek stated that the resort will offer guests multi-day, fully immersive adventures on a luxury starship with all the features expected of a first-class hotel.
