Disney Parks and Resorts offer countless merchandise items every holiday season, and Shanghai Disney Resort has some of the best ones available this year. Just in time for the holidays (and Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday celebration), Shanghai Disney Resort has debuted a new “Mickey in Shanghai” merchandise collection. Much like the other Disney Parks around the world, Shanghai Disney Resort’s newest merchandise collection is a celebration of Mickey Mouse and all his friends. But what makes this collection so remarkable is the inclusion of Shanghai culture.
Take a look at these adorable souvenirs this resort now has to offer!
Exclusive to Shanghai Disney Resort, this new collection features everything a Disney Parks lover could ever want from their visit to Shanghai. Disney announced the “Mickey in Shanghai” collection is a celebration of the city’s cultural heritage and some of its most famous landmarks, like the Oriental Pearl Tower, Yu Gardens and Shikumen architecture. For the Disney fan visiting Shanghai for the first time, this merchandise collection provides the perfect souvenirs to remind guests of the breathtaking landmarks they can see while visiting China.
Some of the merchandise also pays tribute to some of Shanghai’s most delicious food staples, like xiaolongbao (or soup dumplings). The collection even celebrates the Shanghai dialect itself, featuring Chinese characters and phrases on many of the items.
The collection includes mugs, fashionable hats, plush dolls dressed to the nines, collectible display items, and (our favorite!) a collection of exclusive pins modeled after stamps and featuring the Fab Five and the Shanghai landmarks they visit.
The “Mickey in Shanghai” merchandise collection is exclusively available at Shanghai Disney Resort and is one of the many offerings debuting in celebration of Mickey’s 90th birthday. On the eve of Mickey’s birthday on November 18, a month-long celebration of Mickey Mouse will begin at Shanghai Disney Resort, with exclusive entertainment, photo opportunities, birthday eats and treats, and other seasonal special events. And from November 16 – 18 leading up to Mickey’s birthday, enjoy themed food and merchandise offerings as well as the opportunity to sing “Happy Birthday” to Mickey just before the nighttime spectacular show each evening. Whether you’re a Shanghai local or you’re considering booking a trip, you won’t want to miss everything Shanghai Disney Resort has to offer this season.
Shanghai Disney Resort is the newest Disney Park and opened in June 2016. Since its opening, it has wowed guests with its immersive attractions (like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Tron Light Cycle rollercoaster), larger-than-life Enchanted Storybook Castle, and seasonal entertainment offerings. In January 2018, Shanghai Disney Resort hosted a Lunar New Year celebration, an event that was widely successful. If their Mickey’s 90th celebrations are anything like their past events, we’re sure they won’t disappoint park guests. For more information on Shanghai Disney Resort, visit the official website here.
Shanghai Disney Resort is one of the many Disney Parks and Resorts celebrating Mickey’s 90th birthday this year. Check out the new offerings at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World beginning in 2019.
