Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort constantly adds exciting new dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities for Guests to enjoy. Today, another exciting transformation was announced.

New enhancements are being made to the AMC Universal Cineplex 20, along with a name change. Cinemark Theatres will be taking over the location this fall, turning it into Universal Cinemark.

Despite Financial Struggles, AMC Releases Reopening Plan

The transformation of the new theater will begin in September and take several months to complete. All 20 auditoriums will receive Cinemark Luxury Loungers with extendable footrests, cup holders, and plush seating.

Perhaps the most exciting addition to the theater will be a Cinemark XD auditorium. This new state-of-the-art theater will include wall-to-wall screens, custom-engineered surround sound with multi-channel speakers, and incredible projection systems capable of delivering 35 trillion colors.

Unfortunately, this does mean members of the AMC Stubs A-List membership program with AMC Theatres will no longer be able to use their perks at Universal CityWalk. However, Cinemark Theatres offers Cinemark Movie Club a monthly movie membership program offering ticket and concession discounts and other exclusive benefits.
