New ‘Jurassic Park’ Experience Could Take Fans Back to Site B

Isla Nublar has become the main setting for Jurassic Park. But that might be set to change.

In addition to the Jurassic films, the Costa Rican island, home to InGen’s dinosaur theme park resort, serves as the foundation for several other Jurassic experiences, including the animated series Camp Cretaceous, interactive entries like Jurassic Park: The Game and the park management simulation series Jurassic World Evolution, and, of course, Universal Studios’ many attractions worldwide, to name a few.

It seems Isla Sorna, AKA Site B has fallen by the wayside. That wasn’t always the case, though. At one point, the series had left Nublar — the setting of the original 1993 film by Steven Spielberg — so far behind that fans wondered whether the films would ever go back.

The two sequels that followed that first film, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001), took place on Site B.

Also dubbed “the factory floor,” the second InGen island is where scientists genetically engineered and nursed all the dinosaurs before shipping them to the theme park on Nublar, 87 miles away.

However, when the franchise was rebranded with Jurassic World in 2015 with the blockbuster film of the same name, the film series restored Isla Nublar and Sorna became a thing of the past, never to be seen again — at least not on the big screen.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) gave us one last adventure on Nublar before taking the action to the mainland — where Jurassic World Dominion (2022) took place — and the latest film, Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), introduced a new island with Ile Saint-Hubert.

Site B has an interesting history within Jurassic lore, and now it remains more mysterious than ever. Following the events that took place on Nublar in 1993, Hurricane Clarissa devastated the facility on Sorna, forcing all its personnel to evacuate and leave the dinosaurs to their own devices. As we learn in 1997’s The Lost World, they went on to thrive for years.

So, what happened to the island? Nothing is ever hinted at in the film series, but additional materials canonical like the now-defunct Masrani Global website explained that many of the island’s dinosaurs were collected by the company to “backfill” Jurassic World.

But will InGen’s second island ever return, whether it’s as the setting for another film, an animated series, or a video game? While nothing has been hinted at or confirmed, it could make an appearance in the upcoming video game Jurassic Park: Survival.

We know that the first-person action-adventure game developed by Saber Interactive is set entirely on Isla Nublar, just 24 hours after the events of the 1993 film.

Players will take on the role of Dr. Maya Joshi (Payal Mistry), an InGen scientist who was left behind during the evacuation. Alone, Joshi must use her intelligence and all available resources to outlast the park’s prehistoric predators, such as Velociraptors, Dilophosaurus, and T. rex.

The official website confirms that players will explore a “fully realized Isla Nublar.” While it’s not necessarily open world, you’ll get to revisit iconic locations such as the Visitor Center and dinosaur enclosures — all meticulously re-created by Saber — and never-before-seen locations like a hotel in mid-construction, underground tunnels, and abandoned attractions.

But while Site B doesn’t factor into the game in any way, there’s every chance it will appear in the form of a DLC at some point in the future. Or, it might even appear in the main story — perhaps Joshi ends up there somehow. It sounds far-fetched, but we’re talking about a franchise where its main characters repeatedly end up stuck on dinosaur-infested islands.

Either way, here’s hoping Site B will appear in Jurassic Park: Survival.

There’s no release date for the game, but it will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

“Return to Isla Nublar the day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film in an original adventure 65 million years in the making,” the synopsis for the game reads.

“Survive thrilling first-person action as InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was unable to evacuate Isla Nublar, in this single-player action-adventure game and discover a never-before-told story. Through thrilling encounters, experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.”
