Passholders will find themselves restricted when it comes to discounts at Disney from March 2026.

To say that fans aren’t exactly happy with Disney’s annual passes in the years since COVID-19 is an understatement. When Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort reopened post-lockdowns, they swiftly axed their respective programs and introduced replacements with more restrictions and fewer benefits.

For example, theme park reservations are now a necessity (unless it’s a Good-To-Go day or it’s after 2 p.m. at Disney World, although the latter doesn’t apply to weekends at Magic Kingdom). At Disneyland Resort, even the highest tier of its Magic Key program (the Inspire Key) prohibits access on select days of the year, and reservation availability has even led to a lawsuit from some disgruntled passholders.

Guests are equally frustrated overseas. Disneyland Paris has significantly trimmed down the benefits available to those who purchase passes, such as axing the passholder entrance and access to a VIP viewing area for the fireworks at Sleeping Beauty Castle. Every park has hiked its annual pass by a considerable amount, while Tokyo Disney Resort has cut its annual pass program (although it has teased a potential return).

With all these downsides, one of the few perks consistently appreciated by passholders across the board is the discount on food and merchandise. The exact discounts vary depending on the pass and location in question, but generally sit somewhere between 10% and 20%.

At one Disney resort, however, passholders will soon encounter more restrictions.

New Annual Passholder Discount Limitations Announced For Disney Adventure World

Fresh off announcing the opening of World of Frozen and Walt Disney Studios Park’s rebrand as Disney Adventure World, Disneyland Paris has confirmed that annual passholders will not be able to use their discounts on merchandise in large parts of the park.

To be specific, passholders can’t use their discounts on Arendelle, World of Frozen logo, and Disney Adventure World product ranges.

In addition to the lack of discounts, guests will be limited to two items per transaction – seemingly in an effort to prevent resellers from purchasing merchandise in bulk.

The Arendelle, World of Frozen logo, and Disney Adventure World ranges are excluded from all reductions for 12 months. Disneyland Pass, Euro Disney Club and Cast Member benefits remain valid except for these ranges. A limit of two items per transaction applies to all Guests.❄️

It’s not totally clear when this merchandise will arrive in the park, but it’s safe to assume that it will be from March 29, when World of Frozen opens. Other new additions arriving at the park that same month include Raiponce Tangled Spin, inspired by Tangled (2010), The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, and the new nighttime spectacular, Disney Cascade of Lights.

Guests can also enjoy new seasonal entertainment offerings, such as Rapunzel and Flynn’s Musical Encounter, Mary Poppins and the Pearly Band, Miguel’s Latin Festival, and the Disney Marching Band, led by Minnie Mouse and her 12 musicians along Adventure Way.

An area inspired by The Lion King (1994) is currently in the early stages, with no opening timeline just yet. There are also rumors that Disney plans to add an Avatar area to the park.

These changes follow a history of disappointment at Walt Disney Studios Park. Often considered the worst Disney park in the world, common criticisms include its lack of immersive theming, attractions, and general Disney magic. With recent years marked by a maze of construction walls, here’s hoping the new additions usher in a new era for the park.
