On December 21, the Disney Cruise Line fleet will gain its next ship: the Triton Class Disney Treasure. As the sixth ship in the fleet, the Disney Treasure will join the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and 2022’s Disney Wish. In 2025, the seventh ship, Disney Adventure, will join the fleet.

The Disney Treasure recently made the 4,500-mile transatlantic journey from Eemshaven, Netherlands, to its home in Port Canaveral, Florida. The Triton Class cruise boasts multiple new experiences and attractions, including the Aqua Mouse water ride and Disney Tale of Moana, a new Broadway-style musical.

In addition, guests can experience a Beauty and the Beast show, and for food, Worlds of Marvel, Plaza de Coco, and the 1923 restaurants offer a variety of dining experiences. At Plaza de Coco, for example, guests embark on a multi-night culinary journey featuring Miguel and the music of the 2017 Pixar movie.

The Disney Treasure‘s maiden voyage is set for December 21, and it will embark on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Ahead of welcoming guests, Disney Experiences (formerly Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products) hosted an industry event aboard the ship, but things did not go as planned.

Posting to TikTok, @vincentvacations showed water raining down over the atrium after the fire alarm was set off.

Will #DisneyTreasure be able to sail today??? This is CRAZY! The number of fans needed is impossible to know.

Regardless of the flood, the Disney Treasure was reportedly given the all-clear to sail. This is not the first health and safety incident reported from the Disney Treasure. Just a few weeks ago, the new cruise ship rescued four people from a sinking catamaran while making its journey from Europe to the United States of America.

The individuals launched a distress call to the U.S. Coast Guard, who then made their own call. The Disney Treasure was the closest vessel to the stranded boat, a catamaran called the Serenity, and rescued those aboard with a small boat sent from the main cruise.

On a brighter note, upon the Disney Treasure‘s arrival into Port Canaveral, the House of Mouse announced the ‘Treasure Tomorrow’ program.

“What better way to celebrate the Disney Treasure joining our growing fleet than with the launch of our ‘Treasure Tomorrow’ program,” said Sharon Siskie via Disney Parks Blog. “This was created to inspire students in our homeport communities across Florida, The Bahamas, and throughout the Caribbean to discover a variety of exciting career paths and gain the tools to pursue their dreams.”
