Guests visiting Disneyland Paris will notice new construction walls have been placed along the main bridge leading into the resort’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. This castle is often considered to be one of Walt Disney Imagineering’s most visually striking creations, acting as the centerpiece of Paris’ already stunning Disneyland Park.
Much like how guests can access Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, guests visiting Disneyland Paris can enter Sleeping Beauty Castle by way of a bridge.
However, the condition of both Sleeping Beauty Castle and its bridge has deteriorated in recent months, with portions of the bridge crumbling, leading some to question its safety.
To address this issue, Disney has begun new construction work on the bridge.

Disneyland Paris news source, DLP Report, shared the new update, posting a photo of construction walls that now surround portions of the bridge leading to Sleeping Beauty Castle.
DLP Report claims the bridge had been deteriorating “rapidly” in recent years.

Inside the Magic reported earlier this year on other areas of the Disneyland Paris Resort that needed renovation, including the stunning Sleeping Beauty Castle itself.
Initial reports revealed that the castle’s tops had faded and become worn down, either from weather or due to the park’s nighttime shows, which often include the use of pyrotechnics.
At the start of the year, Disneyland Paris news source Disneyphile shared several shocking images revealing the extent of the damage to the resort’s bridge. The photos showed pieces of the bridge lying on the ground, presumably having fallen after cracking due to the sometimes harsh conditions in Paris.
Disneyphile stated the main bridge was not included in the park’s refurbishment during 2021.
Meanwhile, the main bridge leading to Sleeping Beauty Castle continues to crumble week by week (it was not renovated in 2021 at the same time as the rest of the building) due to humidity and temperatures. (Translated)

It’s unknown what exactly this new refurbishment entails, but it’s encouraging to see Disneyland Paris finally address the issue head-on, hopefully leading to a better experience for future guests.
This is far from the only area currently being refurbished at Disneyland Paris, with the entire resort enduring one of the most transformational periods it has ever seen.
Both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park are receiving upgrades, with several rides and attractions closing for refurbishment in recent months.
Disney Village, the resort’s outdoor shopping and dining center, is also receiving upgrades. Several new locations, including new restaurants, are set to open soon.
The resort also recently confirmed it would be demolishing its Disney Events Arena, a massive space used for private events.
