A beloved Superman series is coming to an end. While its premiere has been delayed, it may actually be for a very good reason.

There have been countless interpretations of Superman in television and film throughout the past century, all of which are adored for different reasons. Christopher Reeve is considered a classic, having played the iconic hero in multiple movies. The most recent film example is Henry Cavill in the Zack Snyder films. Finally, there are numerous iterations on television that are also fantastic, including Jack Quaid in My Adventures With Superman and Tom Welling in Smallville.
As James Gunn’s DC Universe has been taking shape and David Corenswet takes on the mantle, the other remnants of DC Entertainment before the new DCU have disappeared. This has already been confirmed with DC Studios moving on from Henry Cavill, and a majority of the Arrowverse is coming to an end. However, one last project from the CW will be wrapping up this year.

Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechelin as Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, has come upon its fourth and final season. However, it has been delayed from its usual Spring/Summer run to the fall. But that is far from a bad thing.
According to The CW President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz, Superman & Lois is being delayed because of how good of a show it is, saying that it would be “wasted” in the summer and that he believes it will challenge the rest of the Fall slate coming from competitors.

“I watched the first episode last night,” said Schwartz. “It will make you cry.” These are undoubtedly big words coming from the CW executive. Despite this excitement, no exact release date has been given for the beloved show.
While there have always been passionate DC Comics fans, the Arrowverse is a different story, bringing iconic characters, like Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benois), The Flash (Grant Gustin), Batwoman (Ruby Rose/Javicia Leslie), and Black Lightning (Cress Williams), to televisions across the nation. Hopefully, DC Studios won’t forget this fan-favorite universe as it moves forward.
