If you are someone who frequents Disneyland Resort and you have been patiently awaiting the return of Magic Key sales, we have good news as the restriction of Magic Key sales will be officially lifted as of tomorrow March 5, 2024.

When the pandemic shut down Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, both theme parks remained closed for over one year, so once they reopened, there was certainly demand. Not only did guests have to snag a hard-to-get park pass reservation due to the limited capacity (an issue that is still in effect today), but they were not able to purchase a Magic Key, or at that time, an Annual Passport.

Once Magic Keys went back on sale, guests swarmed the Disneyland website, at times causing it to crash, selling out all four tiers. Then, Magic Key sales became somewhat of a “drop”. Disneyland would announce that Magic Key sales would resume, then on their selling date, guests would buy the capacity of Keys that were for sale, and then sales would shut down until the next “drop”.

Now, we have confirmation that tomorrow will once again open the sales of Magic Keys!

Below are the current tiers for Magic Keys, which are the Annual Passes for Disneyland Resort:

  • Imagine Key $499
  • Enchant Key $849
  • Believe Key $1249
  • Inspire Key $1649

Disney stated, “Magic Key passes go back on sale March 5, 2024! All 4 pass types will be available for purchase. The online queue opens no earlier than 8:45 AM Pacific Time, and sales begin no earlier than 9:00 AM Pacific Time”.

The House of Mouse continued, “The Magic Key program provides reservation-based admission to one or both Disneyland Resort theme parks. At this time, current Magic Key holders may have the opportunity during their renewal window (currently up to 30 days prior to the pass expiration date) to renew into a pass made available within the program. The quantity of passes and pass types available for renewal may be limited. Passes or a pass type may be unavailable from time to time or at any given time or available only for renewal.”

Disney has also shared some helpful tips that will help ensure you can snag that Magic Key tomorrow:

  • You’ll need a Disney account to purchase a Magic Key pass online. If you don’t have one, create a Disney account here.
  • If you’re a California resident, your stored Disney account address must be a California address in order to view any monthly payment options for available Magic Key passes when they are on sale.
  • If you already have a Disney account, make sure your contact information is current.
  • You may want to add and save a preferred credit card in your Disney account. Enter your card details manually instead of relying on auto-populated details that may be incorrect. If you’re a California resident, make sure the credit card has a California billing address in order to use it for monthly payments.
  • A maximum of $1000 from a Disney Gift Card can also be used as a method of payment online when you pay in full for a new Magic Key pass. Only one Disney Gift Card can be used per transaction, so if you have multiple gift cards, combine them in advance. Disney Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase renewals at this time.
  • Prepare your information! Each Magic Key pass must be assigned to an individual at the time of purchase (maximum of 10 passes). Passes may not be reassigned after purchase. You will need to provide the following information for each person in your party:
    • First and last name
    • Date of birth
    • Address
    • Phone number (Guests 18 years of age and older)
    • Email (Guests 18 years of age and older)
    • The provided email address may be used to communicate program updates and important information about the pass.

It is important to also take a look at the four tiers of Magic Key’s, as some of the lower level keys will not include essential things such as parking, which would then cost you $35 per visit. That added cost might make it more economical to go for the more costly Inspire Key.

When you are ready to make that purchase tomorrow, this link will take you to where you need to go. The wait for Magic Key sales in January was lengthy, so if you are planning on purchasing, logging on before 8:45 AM Pacific Time will be your best bet to ensure you can refresh your tab as soon the the queue opens to get a good spot in “line”.

Will you be trying to score a Magic Key tomorrow for your next Disneyland visit?
