First opened on Yas Island in 2023, this entirely indoor park ditches the outdated orca shows and goes all-in on conservation, marine education, and top-tier thrills. Think of it as SeaWorld 2.0, designed for a new generation of visitors who care as much about wildlife as they do about adrenaline-pumping rides.
Immersive Realms and Marine Exploration
To put things bluntly, this is the most aesthetic SeaWorld park we’ve ever seen.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi kicks off with Abu Dhabi Ocean, where you can get up close and personal with interactive touch pools and catch live pearl diving demos.
At the heart of the park is One Ocean, a stunning central hub that branches out into five unique realms: Micro Ocean, Tropical Ocean, Endless Ocean, Rocky Point, and Polar Ocean, with the latter split into the two subsections of Arctic and Antarctica. Each realm offers a distinct piece of the underwater world, from vibrant coral reefs to frozen Antarctic waters.

Dolphins Take Center Stage
Forget Shamu—dolphins are now the stars. The Dolphin Presentation at the Tropical Ocean Amphitheater lets these incredible animals showcase their natural behaviors without human trainers jumping into the mix. For an even closer encounter, guests can book interactive sessions to learn about dolphin behavior and conservation efforts and even hand-feed them.
There’s a big reason why orcas aren’t part of SeaWorld’s newest lineup. After years of controversy and shifting attitudes toward marine animal captivity, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi made a definitive choice to exclude orcas.
If you visit the FAQ section of the park’s website, its official stance is clear: “No. SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi does not feature orcas/killer whales. Although orcas/killer whales are not part of the Marine Life Theme Park, we offer opportunities to educate the community and raise awareness about this inspiring animal alongside other marine life species.”

Instead of orca performances, SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi integrates up-close animal experiences, including the region’s largest and most progressive aquariums, bringing the latest technology in visitor engagement.
The park is designed to be a family destination that “engages, educates, and inspires, with a focus on marine life care and conservation.” By leveraging innovative exhibits and immersive storytelling, the park delivers an experience that prioritizes animal welfare without relying on traditional whale shows.
An Innovative Roller Coaster Experience and a Next-Gen Simulator
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi isn’t a coaster-heavy park, but it does have Manta—and trust us when we say that that’s enough.
This high-speed coaster—which extends outside the indoor theme park—features 17 airtime moments, a zero-gravity flip, and a dazzling bioluminescent tunnel. It looks deceptively mild when you first arrive at the park. However, Manta packs a serious punch.
Pro tip: sit in the back row for maximum airtime.

Meanwhile, if you’re into mind-blowing visuals, Hypersphere 360 is a must-ride. This Arctic-themed simulator takes you on a deep-sea adventure with jaw-dropping 360-degree graphics that rival Walt Disney World Resort’s Avatar Flight of Passage. You’ll strap into a coaster-style seat and dive headfirst into an immersive oceanic experience that’s equal parts thrilling and educational.
The rest of the park isn’t particularly ride-heavy, with a small collection of attractions oriented at young guests in Micro Ocean. These aren’t anything particularly special, but when you’re surrounded by this much kaleidoscopic theming, the land becomes significantly more interesting.
Aerial Spectacle: Drone Shows Over Fireworks
Fireworks are out; high-tech drone shows are in.
Twice a day at the One Ocean hub, the park delivers a stunning blend of 360-degree ocean films and synchronized drone choreography known as One Epic Ocean.

Unlike fireworks shows, which have sparked controversy (pun not intended) at SeaWorld San Diego lately, this is an eco-friendly way to light up the sky while staying true to SeaWorld’s conservation message.
A Commitment to Education and Conservation
One of the biggest things you’ll notice about SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is that conservation is, unlike the U.S. parks in recent years, very much front and center. The park is rewriting the playbook on theme park marine animal care, by which we mean that it ditches orcas and embraces state-of-the-art habitats.
These are designed to give animals the best possible environment, with dolphins, sea lions, and penguins living in carefully controlled spaces that mimic their natural surroundings.
The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center is a game-changer. It’s the first and only marine research, rescue, rehabilitation, and return facility in the MENA region. Open 24/7, 365 days a year, it’s run by top marine conservationists and ecologists who focus on the Arabian Gulf’s delicate ecosystems.
Backed by SeaWorld’s nearly 60-year legacy in marine life care, it’s part of a global network that has conducted over 40,000 rescues to date.

Unlike the public-facing theme park, the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center is invite-only, serving as a hub for cutting-edge marine science and conservation efforts. Whether it’s responding to stranded sea turtles or pioneering new research, this facility is at the forefront of protecting marine life on a global scale.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi isn’t just another theme park—it’s a next-level experience for families, thrill-seekers, and marine life enthusiasts alike. Whether you’re catching a drone show, riding Manta, or getting up close with dolphins, there’s plenty to see and do. Ready to dive in?
