During a recent sitdown with Yahoo Entertainment, Chris Pratt and James Gunn discussed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but the questions also pivoted to DC. The main subject is how Gunn believes that the rivalry between DC and Marvel is severely overblown and that both media companies are attempting the same goal: “We want to get people into the theaters to see movies.” During this response, Pratt was also asked if he had made his plea to portray his DC character yet.

When asked if he is set to portray Batman, Pratt said, “Yep… That’s just what America wants, and the rest of the world is for me to play Batman. It’s fine. It’s time to finally bring an actor with some gravity to it.”

The hilarious response could be taken with a grain of truth, as Pratt seems to be garnering practically every role these days. What made this exchange that much better is the beloved MCU actor also revealed what his signature Batman voice would sound like. Instead of going with the usual gravelly and deep concoction that we have seen from previous Batman actors (mainly Christian Bale), Pratt decided to offer up a high-pitch variation that would certainly make DC fans scratch their heads.

Both Chris Pratt and James Gunn joined in by offering a high-pitched voice that should be coming out of someone like The Joker. Honestly, Pratt’s high-pitched variation would be something the DC world has not yet seen. Batman is usually brooding, and having him sound like he sucked down a helium balloon would be pretty inventive for the character.

Pratt has showcased his acting gravitas in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. He has also shown he can be a well-rounded voice actor, as his efforts as Mario in the Super Mario Bros movie have gone well. He is also set to portray Garfield in the new animated venture.

The point is that even though people seem “tired” of Chris Pratt, he is here to stay and still drives a ton of fandom in pop culture. We are not saying he would portray Batman, but he could do so in an animated venture for DC at some point. James Gunn has stated that he plans to work with many of his Guardians of the Galaxy stars, which certainly includes Pratt.

Though it is a bit of type-casting, we could see him as Booster Gold, the DC hero set to receive a series as part of the DCU Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters slate. Booster Gold is a man from the future who uses advanced technology to seem like a superhero in the present.

We would imagine that Chris Pratt can pick anyone he wants to portray, and James Gunn would make that happen, considering how big of a star Pratt currently is. Though there are already three Batman variations in the DCU, Pratt could join the fray too.
