Bob Chapek Weighs In on Disney's Reimagined Annual Pass Program

Today, during the third quarter Disney earnings report, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek shared some insight on the future of the company.

From the Disney Parks to Disney+, this quarter has shown major growth for the Walt Disney Company. At Disneyland Resort in California, one of the biggest announcements as of late has been that the Magic Key Pass will be available for purchase beginning August 25. The Magic Key Pass program is Disney’s reimagined version of the Disneyland Resort Annual Passport program, as the former AP program ended in January 2021.

After the theme park (which welcomes a majority of local Guests, compared to tourists) has operated for months with Guests purchasing Disney tickets for each day, many are ecstatic to have learned of all the new Pass tiers available to Guests so that they can once again visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure on a more frequent basis.

During the report, Disney CEO Bob Chapek stated:

“As the parks business continues its recovery and we see demand grow, we’re now putting into action some of the amazing guest-centric services that we’ve been developing over the last few weeks. These include Magic Key, our recently announced new annual pass membership program at Disneyland. It provides great value and options for the bests that will be available starting on August 25th.”

Chapek noted that the majority of reactions regarding the Magic Key have been very positive, as Guests are excited to get back into the parks. He also noted that the Disney Genie, an all-new Disney-planning app, is still being developed and will soon be ready, continuing to enhance the theme Park experience.

There are four tiers to Disneyland’s Magic Key Pass: Dream Key ($1399), Believe Key ($949), Enchant Key ($649), and Imagine Key ($399).
