No actress is more synonymous with Ahsoka Tano than Ashley Eckstein, who has voiced the beloved character across several animated appearances and beyond.
While Rosario Dawson brought Ahsoka into live action in The Mandalorian Season 2 and headlined her own series, Eckstein remains more closely associated with the role.

Ahsoka in The Clone Wars and Beyond
She first voiced Ahsoka Tano in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, before returning in the long-running television series of the same name, which launched that same year and ended with its seventh season in 2020. However, that didn’t mark the end of Eckstein’s tenure.
She also voiced Ahsoka in Star Wars Rebels (2014–2018), the video game Disney Infinity 3.0, Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures (2018), the audiobook version of E. K. Johnston’s Ahsoka novel (2016), and Star Wars Forces of Destiny (2017–2018).

In 2020, Ahsoka transitioned into live action in The Mandalorian Season 2, which saw Rosario Dawson take on the role. She then headlined her own spinoff series Ahsoka in 2023, starring alongside various actors playing live-action versions of the core Rebels characters.
Still, while Dawson was busy building the live-action version of the character in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett (2021), Eckstein continued to voice Ahsoka in an animated capacity, appearing in the anthology series Tales of the Jedi (2022) and LEGO Star Wars specials such as Rebuild the Galaxy (2024).
She even had a voice cameo in Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

Meanwhile, Dawson is also set to return as the character in Ahsoka Season 2, which now has an official trailer and release date.
Ahsoka Season 2 First Look Arrives
During the Disney Studio Showcase Panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, series creator and Lucasfilm President and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni and cast members from the show presented the first trailer for Ahsoka Season 2, which arrives on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.

But Dawson isn’t the only actress playing Ahsoka in Season 2 — Ariana Greenblatt also returns, playing the Clone Wars-era version of the character opposite Anakin Skywalker, with Hayden Christensen reprising his role. Anakin was voiced by Matt Lanter throughout The Clone Wars.
Both Greenblatt and Christensen appeared in the first season, with their scenes exploring Ahsoka’s past during the Clone Wars.
While Ahsoka Season 1 was described by many fans as “a live-action continuation of Rebels,” Season 2 looks set to become the series’ answer to The Clone Wars.
The trailer also revisits one of the defining questions of Ahsoka’s story, with Anakin asking her, “Are you a Jedi or not?” The question recalls the major The Clone Wars storyline in which Ahsoka was falsely accused of a crime before ultimately walking away from the Jedi Order, suggesting that Ahsoka Season 2 will lean more heavily into the animated series.

Ahsoka Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on January 20, 2027, and consists of eight episodes.
It stars Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), and Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno).
Baylan Skoll is now played by Rory McCann, following the death of actor Ray Stevenson in 2023.
