A judge has ruled in favor of Walt Disney World Resort following a lawsuit about a viral brawl in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park in 2022.

On July 20, 2022, lawsuit plaintiffs Nadia and were waiting in line for Mickey’s Philharmagic when another family reportedly “pushed or shoved” a member of their party. The Aikals informed a Disney cast member and identified the other family.

The Magic Kingdom cast member separated the parties by taking one family to an alternate entrance and told the Aikals that she would “take care of it.” Neither family requested a response from law enforcement or Walt Disney World Resort security at that time.

After the showing of Mickey’s Philharmagic, the Aikals alleged that the other family “appeared out of nowhere” and “quickly pounced” on them. Videos of the violent physical altercation that followed quickly spread across the internet. Much of the footage has been lost to time, but this X (formerly known as Twitter) post from @sweetisme3 preserved the original Facebook post about the brawl:

This video of a Magic Kingdom fight posted on Facebook is crazy.

But I’m with the person who filmed this. Where is security??

Disney cast members radioed security and called 911, eventually forming a barrier around the altercation to protect other Magic Kingdom Park guests. Within minutes, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene and took both families to a backstage security office.

One man involved in the brawl was taken to the hospital to treat a facial laceration, and some of the guests involved claimed that designer items and mobile phones were damaged during the incident.

The brawl drew more attention when police records revealed that one of the people involved was Elijah Richardson, an actor who appeared in three episodes of the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the Disney+ film Hollywood Stargirl (2022). Bradley’s mother was arrested following the incident.

Both families involved in the Fantasyland brawl were banned from Walt Disney World Resort and were not allowed to complete their vacations. The plaintiffs later sued Disney for negligent security, claiming that cast members could have prevented the violent incident. Disney argued that it had “no duty” to protect the family from a sudden, unforeseeable third-party criminal act.

In May of this year, Walt Disney World Resort requested a Summary Judgement in this lawsuit before it had the chance to go to trial. Disney argued that this incident was not foreseeable and, therefore, owed the plaintiffs no duty of protection.

On July 13, 2026, Circuit Court Judge Michael Deen issued a Summary Judgement in favor of Walt Disney World Resort on all claims, dismissing the case before it ever went to trial. Disney does not owe a settlement to the plaintiffs.
