Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis has several notable roles to her name, but she’s best known for portraying the “final girl” Laurie Strode in the Halloween movies.

The Halloween movies are a complicated affair. Beyond the original 1978 film by John Carpenter, we’ve seen sequels, spinoffs, retcons, reboots, and legacy sequels.

With multiple continuities spanning all 13 films, Curtis has played several different versions of the character. Although the role was filled by Scout Taylor-Compton in the Rob Zombie remakes.

Still, it’s Curtis who’s synonymous with Laurie Strode, having most recently played her in David Gordon Green’s Halloween trilogy. But now, a new actress is finally about to take up the mantle.

A New Halloween Reboot Is in the Works

Halloween: The Game is a third-person asymmetrical multiplayer game developed by Illfonic, whose previous titles within the survival horror genre include Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds.

Set during the events of Carpenter’s 1978 film, Halloween: The Game allows players to either take on the role of a Haddonfield Civilian or as Michael Myers himself.

Players can also play as Michael offline, in a story that gives us more of “the night he came home.”

Whether playing as a Civilian or as Michael, players will explore meticulously recreated sandboxes of iconic locations such as Haddonfield Heights and Haddonfield Town Center.

A story trailer showcasing the offline part the game was recently shared online. The video features a voiceover from Dr. Samuel Loomis (portrayed in the original film series by Donald Pleasence) and an appearance from Laurie Strode. Watch the new trailer for the game below:
