A refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort may impact your next planned vacation at the Value Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Here’s what to know before your next visit to the Central Florida Disney parks.
Refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

On May 27, the previously announced refurbishment began inside Donald’s Double Feature gift shop in the main lobby at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. According to Walt Disney World Resort’s website, the hotel merchandise location is expected to remain open throughout construction, though guests may “see and hear construction in the area.”
Availability of certain souvenirs may be limited; when Walt Disney World Resort refurbished the gift shop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort over a year ago, the project was done in phases. At times, only half of the merchandise location was functional, and fewer souvenirs were available than when the entire store was open. Since Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is also a Value Resort with a gift shop layout and merchandise selection similar to Disney’s Pop Century Resort, it will likely follow the same refurbishment timeline.

Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed that the refurbishment project will wrap up in late August 2026, but hasn’t provided an exact date or shared its plans for Donald’s Double Feature gift shop at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. The merchandise location is in the same building as the Disney Resort check-in and the World Premiere Food Court, both of which are expected to continue operating normally throughout the three-month construction project.
Disney cast members are simultaneously refurbishing guest rooms throughout Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort in phases, allowing the Value Resort to honor existing hotel reservations. This project is expected to wrap up in January 2027.

Walt Disney World Resort typically limits construction activity, especially in guest rooms, to the daytime when most guests are at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs. Families using the pools or other Disney Resort amenities during the day may hear or see construction activity in the area. Guests can visit the Front Desk with any questions about ongoing projects during their stay.
