Guests staying at more affordable hotels face extra restrictions when entering one Disney park this year.
Early entry remains one of the biggest perks at Disney parks. Guests staying at Disney hotels can often access select attractions before regular opening, often cutting wait times dramatically for major rides.

Disney’s early entry perks now vary dramatically by resort. Walt Disney World still offers 30 minutes of Early Theme Park Entry daily, whether you’re staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, while Disneyland Resort scrapped its version in January and replaced the offering with a complimentary Lightning Lane. Disneyland Paris arguably offers the strongest setup, with Extra Magic Time granting hotel guests early ride access before the parks officially open.
Early Entry System Scraps Access on Select Dates
The most complicated offering can be found at Tokyo Disney Resort, where early entry rules can vary by hotel and park. Certain hotels only grant access to specific parks on specific days, with some guests receiving entry just 15 minutes early through the resort’s constantly evolving Happy Entry system.
Its latest update now prevents guests staying at select hotels from accessing one of the parks during early entry.

On September 15, 16, and 19, and October 31, 2026, only guests staying at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel Grand Chateau and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel can use Happy Entry at Tokyo Disneyland.
That means guests staying at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel Fantasy Chateau, and Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel cannot enter the park ahead of other non-hotel guests.
Notably, guests staying at the resort’s two cheapest hotels – Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel and Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel – are always prohibited from using Happy Entry to access Tokyo DisneySea early.

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and Disney Ambassador Hotel may only benefit from early entry to Tokyo DisneySea between July 1 and September 14, 2026.
As of now, Tokyo Disney Resort has only shared its Happy Entry restrictions through October 31, 2026. More restrictions are likely to pop up for November and December in order to combat crowding during the busy holiday season.
How Do Guests Use Happy Entry?
Tokyo Disney Resort’s Happy Entry system is notably more restrictive than Disney’s other early entry offerings. Guests can use the benefit on any day of their stay except check-in day, though access depends heavily on which Disney hotel they are staying at and which park is participating that morning.

The biggest surprise is that Happy Entry does not actually let guests ride attractions early. Instead, guests are allowed into the park before regular opening to explore mostly empty lands, shop, take photos, or access limited guest services before the wider crowds arrive.
Ride operations generally begin once regular guests are allowed into the park. Happy Entry guests can, however, use the quieter period to purchase Disney Premier Access, secure Standby Passes, or submit Entry Requests before the official opening. Available services are otherwise extremely limited, mostly covering essentials like stroller rentals, first aid, and guest relations.
Tokyo Disney Resort previously teased plans to build more hotels in the coming years. There are also rumors that plans for a third theme park – often nicknamed Tokyo DisneySky – are back on the table.
