Mickey Mouse has always been the heart of Walt Disney World. No matter how many new attractions, lands, or characters arrive, the famous mouse remains the face of the entire resort. From meet-and-greets on Main Street, U.S.A. to stage shows across the parks, Mickey continues to evolve with every generation of guests.
That evolution is about to continue again.
Disney has now confirmed a notable Mickey Mouse update coming to Walt Disney World in 2026. While the character himself isn’t changing, the way guests experience Mickey inside one of the parks is getting a major refresh as part of a broader reimagining.

The update centers on a brand-new stage show featuring Mickey and several of his closest friends.
A New Mickey Mouse Experience Is on the Way
Disney has officially launched the webpage for Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, confirming that the new show will debut as part of the reimagined Animation Courtyard area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The stage production is expected to run approximately 20 minutes and will feature Mickey Mouse alongside Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto. The show draws inspiration from the popular Disney Jr. series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as well as the newer Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+.
Rather than a traditional sit-and-watch show, the production is designed to be highly interactive. Disney is incorporating upbeat music, audience participation, and energetic storytelling aimed primarily at younger guests visiting the park.
The official story centers on Mickey and Minnie throwing a party at Mickey’s house. When some of their friends don’t arrive, the pair set off to find them, eventually bringing everyone together for a lively finale.
While Mickey has appeared in countless shows throughout Walt Disney World history, this marks a fresh take built specifically around the Disney Jr. audience.

Part of a Major Hollywood Studios Transformation
The new Mickey stage show is just one piece of a much larger overhaul happening inside Animation Courtyard.
Disney has been gradually transforming the area, which sits near the park’s entrance and has long served as a home for character encounters, shows, and animation experiences. Now, the space is being reimagined under the banner of The Magic of Disney Animation, a project set to debut in summer 2026.
When the project opens, guests will find multiple new offerings inside the building and surrounding courtyard.
Some of the experiences confirmed so far include:
-
Olaf Draws!, an animation class led by an Audio-Animatronics Olaf
-
Enchanted Art Gallery, where Disney characters appear within animated artwork
-
Once Upon A Studio Theater, showcasing the Emmy Award–winning short film
-
Drawn to Wonderland Playground, an indoor play space inspired by Alice in Wonderland concept art
-
Several new character greeting locations
The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show will be one of the centerpieces of the area, giving families another live entertainment option inside the park.
Disney Is Investing in Family Entertainment Again
In recent years, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has focused heavily on blockbuster franchises like Star Wars and Toy Story. Attractions such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash have become massive draws for visitors.
But one thing the park has occasionally lacked is entertainment designed specifically for younger children.
This new Mickey production helps fill that gap.
Disney Jr. programming has proven incredibly popular with families over the years. Shows like Disney Junior Dance Party! consistently attracted large crowds before closing, and the company clearly sees an opportunity to expand that audience again.
By centering the show on Mickey and his friends, Disney is leaning into one of its safest and most recognizable brands. Mickey remains one of the most universally beloved characters across all Disney properties, making him a perfect anchor for a family-focused stage production.

Animation Courtyard Is Getting a Fresh Identity
Animation Courtyard has gone through several different identities over the years.
Originally, the area served as a tribute to Disney’s animation legacy. Guests could explore animation exhibits, meet characters, and even watch animators at work in earlier versions of the attraction.
Over time, many of those experiences disappeared as Hollywood Studios shifted toward larger IP-based lands.
The new Magic of Disney Animation concept appears to bring some of that creative spirit back while updating it for modern audiences.
Instead of focusing strictly on animation history, the space will combine interactive experiences, character encounters, and live entertainment. That mix should make the area more appealing to families looking for things to do between the park’s larger attractions.
What This Means for Mickey at the Parks
For Disney fans, the addition of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! represents more than just another show.
It’s a reminder that Mickey Mouse continues to evolve alongside the parks themselves.
While the character has been around for nearly a century, Disney constantly finds new ways to introduce him to younger audiences. From classic cartoons to modern television series and theme park entertainment, Mickey adapts with each new generation.
This upcoming show leans into that philosophy.
By using the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse format—complete with interactive storytelling and energetic music—Disney ensures that Mickey remains relevant for kids discovering the character for the very first time.
At the same time, longtime fans still get to see the familiar gang of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto sharing the stage together.
Looking Ahead to Summer 2026
The debut of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will coincide with the broader opening of The Magic of Disney Animation experience in summer 2026.
Disney Imagineering has already filed multiple construction permits tied to the Animation Courtyard overhaul, covering set installations and electrical work within the building.
That construction activity signals that work is actively progressing behind the scenes.
When everything is complete, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will gain a refreshed space celebrating Disney animation while also introducing new ways for families to interact with Mickey and his friends.
For a character who has been the symbol of the company for nearly 100 years, Mickey Mouse is once again stepping into something new.
And in 2026, Disney fans will see that change play out live on stage.
