Big news recently dropped for Disneyland in California. Could big changes also be on the way for Walt Disney World Resort?

Disney’s theme parks are a massive endeavor, both from their point of view and from the point of view of guests themselves. Operationally, Disney’s parks require extensive planning and maintenance to ensure that all rides, attractions, and other experiences are up to par.
The same can be said for travelers, as planning is crucial to ensuring your trip to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” is as “magical” as possible. From booking hotel reservations to ensuring you have mapped out your day efficiently, there are many little touches that can make or break a Disney vacation.
Adaptability is key, however, from both Disney’s perspective and that of its guests, with the company recently making a rather big adjustment at its Southern California theme park.
Disneyland Drops Reservations from Oga’s – Is Disney World Next?

On August 19, 2025, Disneyland announced reservations would no longer be taken at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Instead, guests will simply need to join a standby queue.
This was quite a surprising update, one that has some interesting implications for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Disneyland’s decision to drop reservations for Oga’s leads us to believe the Star Wars-themed bar isn’t popular enough to necessitate this feature. With Oga’s switching to stand-by only, it seems like Disneyland knows capacity isn’t always being met. Opening up a stand-by queue lets more guests enjoy the bar while eliminating a reservation system.
This begs the question: Will Walt Disney World follow suit? The Florida version of Oga’s Cantina still offers reservations and has since it opened, though this could very likely change.
Over the last few years, guests have seen the more cumbersome aspects of a Disney vacation, such as theme park reservations and Virtual Queues, slowly get phased out.
It’s unclear if Disney World plans to follow in Disneyland’s footsteps, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see reservations dropped from Oga’s in Florida.

Oga’s Cantina is a bar located inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The highly themed watering hole transports guests into their own Star Wars story, complete with immersive theming and incredible details.
From an animatronic robot DJ to out-of-this-world drinks, Oga’s Cantina is one of the most unique experiences guests will find at the Disney theme parks. However, the bar is one small part of Batuu, the fictional planet where Galaxy’s Edge is located.
As guests explore more of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, they can uncover a wide range of other attractions and experiences.
For food, guests can stop by Docking Bay 7 for some out-of-this-world treats.
For merchandise, guests can check out Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities for some incredible Star Wars items. For a more personalized experience, guests can also build their own droid and lightsaber.
Do you enjoy Oga’s Cantina? What is your favorite Star Wars-themed experience at Walt Disney World?
