Credit: LucasfilmA year after Star Wars debuted its latest dual lightsaber-wielding villain in the form of Manny Jacinto’s Qimir/The Stranger in The Acolyte, the galaxy far, far away will get a new dual-wielding character this fall.
In the summer of 2024, Star Wars debuted its High Republic era series, The Acolyte, from showrunner Leslye Headland. The series was consistently under immense backlash online and was later cancelled, seemingly due to low viewership compared to its bloated budget.
The series introduced a host of new characters to the franchise, including Amandla Stenberg’s twin sisters Osha and Mae Aniseya, their guardian Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith), Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), and The Stranger, AKA Qimir, played by Manny Jacinto.
With its unceremonious cancellation, the door was left open on many unanswered questions that will likely be wrapped up in supporting media, as Star Wars has done before. But now, Lucasfilm has just revealed its next Force user villain, effectively replacing Qimir as the latest bad guy in the franchise.
Following the playful chaos of last year’s LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the saga continues this fall with a brand-new installment that once again turns Star Wars canon on its head—brick by brick.
The series will debut a new Star Wars villain in the form of Master Solitus, a former Jedi who has seemingly turned to the dark side. The character will be voiced by Beauty and the Beast star Dan Stevens. Master Solitus is the former Master of Jedi Bob (Bobby Moynihan).
In Pieces of the Past, Master Solitus will begin teaching Tony Revolori’s Darth Rev.
“Dev’s divided journey is muddled even further with the introduction of Solitus. ‘Darth Dev would describe Solitus as the Master he’s always been looking for. A true Sith Lord! Someone who can finally teach him his place in the universe,’ Revolori said via The Direct. “But that’s not how the actor would put it for himself. ‘I would describe him as having a whole lot of issues; he needs a friend and some love badly.’”
The new villain character will also deviate from the usual red lightsaber of a dark side user; instead, Master Solitus will wield dual purple lightsabers akin to Jedi Master Mace Windu (played by Samuel L. Jackson) in the Star Wars movies. It will be interesting to see if Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past plays into the lightsaber lore that The Acolyte presented to audiences last year when Osha Aniseya bled her kyber crystal from blue to red.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past will premiere on Disney+ on September 19, 2025. It will reunite creators Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit for another irreverent take on the Star Wars universe. Like its predecessor, this four-episode series will explore an alternate, non-canonical reality, offering a comedic spin on iconic characters, lore, and galaxy-spanning conflicts.
The project was officially announced during Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, where Ahmed Best, the voice behind the fan-favorite Darth Jar Jar, helped unveil the title. Best’s viral take on the Sith version of Jar Jar Binks played a pivotal role in the first installment and will return again this time around. Also present at the announcement was Ashley Eckstein, confirming she’s back as Ahsoka Tano—though this version of the character will be anything but familiar.
At the announcement, it was confirmed that audiences will meet BrickHeadz Ahsoka for the first time on screen. The beloved voice actress told audiences at the event that this Ahsoka would be another special franchise addition.
“Last time I was on this stage, I talked about how Ahsoka lives in all of us, and we’ve really made Ahsoka’s story our own story,” Eckstein said. “We’ve experienced Star Wars for an entire generation through Ahsoka’s eyes… and we’ve literally created our own story through Ahsoka, and that’s what this story is about. There’s so much heart in BrickHeadz Ahsoka, and we’re all going to relate to her. You’re going to love it.”
The voice cast brings back a dynamic ensemble of fan-favorite talent. Gaten Matarazzo, Tony Revolori, Bobby Moynihan, and Ben Schwartz will once again lend their voices to the series. Eckstein reprises Ahsoka with a fresh twist, while Best continues as Darth Jar Jar.
