It’s late June, and the East Coast is suffering through a massive heat dome this week, running temperatures into the high 90s and low 100s across the country. What better time to start thinking about Christmas?

Wait, what? Right around this time every year, Disney World announces its schedule and pricing for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom and Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios.

Disney uses the “Halfway to Christmas” point every year to make these announcements; this is the week that information should be dropping on Disney’s website. Last year, Disney World made the announcement on Monday, June 24.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Last year, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ran for 23 nights, starting in early November and running through late December. The ticketed party ran two or three nights per week heading into the holiday season.

Last year, tickets for the party were $169-$219, depending on the time of year. With Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party raising prices, Disney guests can also expect the prices for the after-hours Christmas party to increase.

Guests get the run of Magic Kingdom from 7 p.m. to midnight, which includes special meet-and-greets, a special parade and fireworks show, and Mickey’s Most Merriest stage show. Magic Kingdom rides have special holiday overlays for the event, including Space Mountain Holiday Run and the Jingle Cruise. Special food and merchandise offerings are also available only to party guests.

Jollywood Nights

If you’re looking for a more sophisticated way to celebrate the holidays, Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios is the place to be. Jollywood Nights only has 12 dates from November to late December.

Jollywood Nights is a little more affordable than Mickey’s Party at Magic Kingdom. Prices for the Hollywood Studio event are $159 to $179. Like for Mickey’s guests, those numbers can also be expected to increase this year.

Like Mickey’s Very Merry, Jollywood Night features special meet-and-greets and holiday-themed entertainment. Unlike Mickey’s, however, Jollywood Nights offers special holiday drinks for the adult crowd.
