When you vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, one of the most magical feelings is driving under the large Walt Disney World sign. It gives you goosebumps, and you know that you are getting ready to make a lifetime of memories.
However, the Disneyland Resort is very different. The theme park was built in the middle of Anaheim, California, and the city has really built up around the park. The theme park lies right off of the highway, and when you exit, it just kind of pops up.
You look out of your car window, and all of a sudden, you see the back of Cars Land, or you’re sitting at a red light next to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Because Disneyland is in the middle of a city, that means that the park’s transportation is different from Disney World. Yes, there are parking garages and trams taking you to the entrance to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. There are also buses that will take guests from the parking lots that are a little further away from the Resort.
Then, there is also a drive-up area, where guests can be dropped off close to the entrance to Disneyland and DCA. And since it is right off of a public street, anyone set up shop just steps away from The Happiest Place on Earth.

We have reported on issues that can happen outside of Disneyland, like protestors waving bigoted signs and saying terrible things about certain groups of people. But they are not the only ones you have to keep an eye out for.
According to Redditor u/xizas, there is a man who owns a parrot. He stands outside Disneyland and allegedly forces people to pose for a picture with his bird, and then demands payment.
The guy who sits at the entrance to Disneyland on Harborview with his parrots. Not a fan.
He aggressively walks up to families with young kids. Places the bird on the kid or other unsuspecting family member, takes their photo, and then demands payment.
He doesnt wait for people to come to him. He targets families.
Don’t know how much he demands as payment, but it is probably an exorbitant amount.

The Original Poster (OP) was not the only person who was unfortunate enough to encounter the “parrot scammer.” Another person confirmed what OP had to say and said that the man not only touched their child, but also took their phone. The commenter further claimed — with support from other commenters — that the man does not take care of his birds properly.
He’s awful! Forced the birds onto my kids took my phone from me to take pics and then demanded money. He’s a jerk. Also, those birds are in distress and you can’t change my mind. I despise him

Many commenters said that if guests are approached by the man, they should find the nearest police officer. Police often set up near the resort’s entrance, so they should not be far away. They were encouraged to report the man, especially if he was physically touching young children who were with their parents and being aggressive.
You should have walked up to Anaheim PD that are always posted near the entrance to the bus terminals and said that he grabbed your son without consent so they could deal with him.
This is not the first time that guests have complained about people who are posted outside Disneyland and DCA. In September, someone also posted on Reddit about the religious groups who set up tables in Downtown Disney. However, it should be noted that those people are legally allowed to be there, and they do not talk to guests unless the guests approach them first.
