The near-total transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park is still in motion, with one park feature undergoing some radical changes this week.
Disney’s theme parks are always changing, but it’s rare for one to receive as much thorough TLC as Walt Disney Studios Park.

Much like Disney California Adventure Park in the 2000s, the much-maligned park at Disneyland Paris has long been criticized for its lack of attractions and immersive theming.
Originally inspired by the world of movie-making and thematically similar to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the park has received a series of new IP-driven additions in recent years to attract more visitors, such as Avengers Campus in 2022.
However, the park’s journey is far from complete. As Disneyland Paris previously vowed, over 90% of the park is expected to receive an overhaul by the time its transformation into Disney Adventure World is complete.

“Embracing a transformation that involves the overhaul of more than 90 percent of Walt Disney Studios Park since its debut in 2002, we’re unveiling a fresh creative vision that has completely redefined our second gate,” Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris, said in April 2024.
Work Starts On Animagique Theater
As part of these changes, work is now underway at Animagique Theater.
The venue usually hosts the stage show Mickey and the Magician. However, while the production is on hiatus from January 6 to April 20, teams are in the process of slicing off the theater’s awning.

By the time work is complete, the theater will form part of World Premiere Plaza, a new Art Déco-inspired theater district. As per the concept art, the front of Animagique Theater (which will still host Mickey and the Magician) will receive a total refresh to fit into the area’s aesthetic.
Other Changes at Walt Disney Studios Park
Before guests reach World Premiere Plaza, they’ll pass through World Premiere – the new entrance replacing Studio 1. According to Disney, this will see guests “transported into a vibrant, contemporary open-air movie studio” and “welcomed to a glamorous movie premiere in the heart of Hollywood” that pays homage to historic movie theaters.
Further into the park, Disney is in the process of building World of Frozen. This will be Disney’s third Frozen (2013) land after those found at Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, complete with its own version of EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After.

Meanwhile, the park is also receiving a Tangled (2010) ride – Raiponce Tangled Spin – and a new restaurant, complete with Disney Princess character dining, called The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge.
It will also welcome Disney’s first ride inspired by The Lion King (1994), with concept art promising something similar to Splash Mountain (which we’re sure will be deeply popular in the summer months, but not-so-hot during the freezing cold Parisian winter).
