The Disneyland Resort is full of classic rides and attractions, though none may be quite as infamous as Matterhorn Bobsleds. This fast-paced, family-friendly roller coaster, first opened in 1959, has been sending guests up and down the Swiss Alps for decades.

In the years since, Matterhorn Bobsleds has become somewhat of an unofficial iconic for the Disneyland Resort and Disney theme parks in general, ranking as one of the company’s most popular and famous roller coasters of all time.

However, Matterhorn Bobsleds is quite old and, as such, can often be painful and rather rough, so much so that a recent discussion formed around the ride, with at least one guest claiming they may never hop back on.

A large mountain with snow-capped peaks and rugged rocky terrain is surrounded by lush green trees and bushes. A wooden fence runs along a path near the base of the mountain, and white clouds fill the blue sky in the background.

Reddit user shortroundstack shared an image of the Matterhorn on the Disneyland community page with the caption, “I probably will never ride this ride again.” While many guests may say this about a number of rides and attractions at the Disney theme parks, Matterhorn Bobsleds is quite different, as it actually causes quite a bit of pain and is uncommon for riders.

This has been a problem for the coaster for quite some time, with lots of guests feeling Matterhorn Bobsleds is too rough and old compared to modern-day attractions.

In the comments, fans joked about Matterhorn’s rather uncomfortable ride profile, with one dubbing the coaster “The Chiropractor.”

“I happily walk past it every time I go,” stated one fan. “I can’t believe it has such long lines it’s literally too painful for me.”

“I’m done,” said another. “Last time I tried, I couldn’t do the yoga pose required to get seated. The curse of being both tall and old.”

Disney is no stranger to uncomfortable rides, with DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom also being labeled “painful” and “jerky.” Perhaps the roughest ride at Walt Disney World is Space Mountain, which can often leave guests feeling sore and shaken.

Uncomfortable rides at the Disney parks include newer attractions as well, like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Avatar Flight of Passage, though both of these experiences are divisive for far different reasons.

Due to the nature of the ride vehicles themselves, guests are held in place by very restrictive bars and restraints, which can be uncomfortable for certain riders. Disney faced a slew of controversies when Flight of Passage opened due to its restrictive nature, with many claiming the new ride would not be accessible to those with larger bodies.

Universal has also faced this problem with some of its newer rides and attractions, though the majority of guests can still experience most of the theme parks’ offerings.

Is there an attraction you will never ride again at Disney?
