A former Disney cast member recently shared one guest’s hack for getting into EPCOT without buying Walt Disney World Resort tickets. While technically accurate, the tip didn’t get the guest very far!
Former Disney cast member Kelsey Conkling (@disneywithkels) shares stories about Walt Disney World Resort guests on TikTok. She recently recounted a moment from theme park entry at EPCOT.

Conkling recounted speaking to a woman who looked “lost.” When the Disney cast member asked the Walt Disney World Resort guest what was wrong, she said she was “really confused.”
The woman revealed that she saw a free EPCOT entry hack on social media.
“I saw this video on Facebook of someone saying that if you ride the Monorail from the Magic Kingdom to EPCOT, you could get into EPCOT without ever having bought a ticket,” she explained. “The Monorail dropped me here which is outside the entrance. She said I could get into EPCOT without buying a ticket.”
It’s technically true that the Monorail takes guests through the World Celebration area of EPCOT and around Spaceship Earth before looping back to the theme park entrance. However, guests must scan their Walt Disney World Resort tickets, MagicBands, or mobile apps to enter the Disney park.
Unfortunately, the guest wasn’t pleased when she realized her “hack” was misleading.
“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” she said. “…Well, there goes my plans for the day. I guess I’m not going into EPCOT.”
A ride on the Monorail can undoubtedly be a relaxing, budget-friendly way to enjoy a non-theme park day at Walt Disney World Resort–even if you still need tickets to get into EPCOT. Try transferring at the Transportation & Ticket Center and stopping for a snack or shopping spree at each Monorail hotel: Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!
