Disneyland Resort guests report a disparity in the crowds between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Last week, Inside the Magic reported that Disneyland Park guests found crowd levels overwhelming during the holiday season.

Between families with time off from school and locals flocking to the Southern California Disney park for holiday celebrations like A Christmas Fantasy Parade and “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle, it seems everyone wants a taste of Christmastime at The Happiest Place on Earth.

Despite the overwhelming crowds at Disneyland Park, some Disneyland Resort guests say that Disney California Adventure Park is the exact opposite.

“I went to DCA [last] Monday and it was so empty,” one Magic Key Pass holder explained. “Most waits were under 30mins (except cars) because everyone is at Disneyland.”

In a recent Reddit post, u/That_Operation_2433 described the second Southern California Disney park as a “ghost town.”

“We lucked out,” the Disney theme park guest wrote. “Most rides 5-10 min standby [line] the whole day! Longest was 60 minutes for radiator springs at mid day. We did all of them so many times we headed home before close.”

The lower crowd levels allowed the guest’s family extra personalized experiences at certain attractions.

“Turtle Talk only had 2 families in it so he talked to each kid for a while,” they recalled. “That was a big highlight for my kids…Was so cool.”

Although less busy, Disney California Adventure Park isn’t deprived of holiday celebrations. Guests can enjoy the Festival of the Holidays, World of Color – Season of Light, and decorations throughout the theme park.

Visiting Disneyland Park early in the morning can help guests. Use the Disneyland Resort app for up-to-date wait times throughout Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
