Universal Studios Hollywood is in the midst of one of its busiest seasons–Halloween Horror Nights. This year, themed haunted houses include “A Quiet Place,” “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” “Insidious: The Further,” and, of course, the Terror Tram experience featuring Blumhouse characters.

The annual Halloween event brings crowds to the already-packed Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk, including popular lands like SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Around 1:45 a.m. on Friday, September 13, hundreds of guests were leaving after a long night at Universal Studios Hollywood. Guests thought they left the haunted horrors behind, but found real-life terror awaited at Universal CityWalk.
Redditor u/survivorofmistakes and their partner were headed to their car when security team members escorted them away from one of the parking garage escalators.

“There were a lot of security guards ushering everyone away from the next escalator and the people who had to go down again had to take the stairwell,” the Universal Parks guest wrote. “Once we left the parking structure, ambulances and fire trucks were coming in.”
“Did someone get stuck or hurt in the escalator?” they asked. “What happened?”
Other Universal Studios Hollywood guests chimed in with their experiences from Friday night.

“I saw that they arrested a girl,” u/tharr7 replied. “They took her away in handcuffs, but that was all that I saw. And there was a gurney but we didn’t see anybody in it.”
“Sheriffs and EMTs had surrounded a car in the pick-up area,” said u/tomorrowschild. “Its lights were on and engine running, and the driver was intoxicated and unconscious. They were there to pick up someone, which obviously didn’t happen. Not sure if it’s the same woman reported earlier.”

Multiple incidents were reported, and it’s unclear whether they were related.
“The girls in front of us walking back to the hotel said someone fell and got hurt,” u/Maleficent-Duty-7388 wrote.
Twitch streamer Lacy captured the emergency response on his live stream as he returned to his car. However, the video doesn’t provide any clues as to what occurred.

Universal Studios Hollywood didn’t publicly acknowledge the incident.
