Few theme parks are as iconic or as popular as Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Home to two theme parks, an incredible water park, and a dedicated hub for shopping and dining, many consider the Universal Orlando Resort home, and things just keep on getting better.
The last few years have been incredible for Universal Orlando, with the resort constructing several world-class attractions and new rides. Now, the resort is getting ready to introduce a brand-new parade at its Universal Studios Florida theme park, an experience Universal promises will be worth guests’ while.
Universal’s new Mega Movie Parade features close to 100 performers and pays massive homage to classic films. The parade debuted on July 3, 2024, though it is still in technical rehearsals.
As Universal tweaks and monitors this new attraction, guests may notice a few hiccups along the way. As a result, Universal is notifying guests that the new Mega Movie Parade may be canceled without warning.

A new sign placed out on the street informs guests about the new parade. “Our newest parade is in technical rehearsal,” reads the sign. “Not all elements of the parade may be functioning. Parade may stop or be canceled without notice.”
No official timeframe has been given for Universal’s Mega Movie Parade’s official commencement, but guests can enjoy the new attraction during technical rehearsals just in time for the 4th of July.
Daytime parades have become a crucial part of the theme park experience, especially in Orlando, where competition is fierce. Universal’s neighbor, Walt Disney World, offers a wide range of parades, shows, and spectacles, with one of the resort’s most famous shows being Fantasmic!.

In 2025, Universal Orlando Resort will expand once again with Epic Universe. This massive expansion will join Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida as the resort’s third theme park, offering guests a wide range of fun new rides and attractions.
Epic Universe is anchored by several key franchises and properties, ranging from Super Mario to Harry Potter. Epic Universe will feature several distinctly themed lands based on these franchises, with Universal recently unveiling a land dedicated to classic Universal monsters like The Invisible Man, Frankenstein’s Monster, and Wolfman, just to name a few.
When complete, Epic Universe is poised to be one of the most significant moments in theme park history, greatly expanding Universal Orlando’s footprint in Florida.
Universal has yet to officially announce the park’s opening day, but the company has maintained that Epic Universe will open in the summer of 2025.
