The science fiction horror series Stranger Things, created by the Duffer Brothers, has undeniably become a cultural juggernaut. Debuting on Netflix in 2016, the show garnered immense popularity, breaking streaming records and catapulting its young stars into the international spotlight.
Set in the nostalgic backdrop of 1980s Indiana, Stranger Things delves into the fictional town of Hawkins and its inhabitants. The narrative hinges on the disappearance of a young boy, Will Byers, and the arrival of Eleven, a mysterious girl with psychokinetic abilities. As a mysterious alternate dimension known as the Upside Down becomes a looming threat, the residents of Hawkins must band together to confront these unearthly forces.

Interestingly, the prequel’s timeline suggests the absence of characters like Eleven, who wouldn’t have been born during that period. This reinforces the notion that the cast, particularly Millie Bobby Brown, may be ready to move on from their defining roles.
Brown, now a young woman, has expressed her desire to explore projects beyond Stranger Things. As Millie Bobby Brown stated, “”When you’re ready, you’re like, ‘All right, let’s do this. Let’s tackle this last senior year. Let’s get out of here.” Her exceptional talent has been recognized through awards and accolades.
Outside of the show, she has established herself as a published author with her novel “Nineteen Steps” and secured acting roles in major films like Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Recent reports suggest her marriage to Jacob Hurley Bongiovi further underscores her desire to venture into new creative endeavors.
Brown took a long hiatus from filming not only to get married but to visit Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort as well.
Netflix’s strategy to capitalize on Stranger Things‘ immense popularity extends beyond the television screen. The show has cleverly integrated itself into the ever-evolving world of online gaming, specifically the global phenomenon Fortnite.
Fortnite is a multiplayer online game that facilitates global interaction and gameplay among its players. In each gaming session, participants parachute into the virtual world with the ultimate aim of being the sole survivor. One way that Fortnite has continued to keep the game fresh and exciting for its user base while finding new streams of revenue has been by creating new skins. Skins are the overall look of your character, and once Fortnite started charging users to purchase licensed looks, like Spider-Man, they never stopped.
Most recently, the game added Nightmare Before Christmas’ Jack Skellington to the game, as well as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Now, Stranger Things has been introduced to the world of Fortnite, as Eleven is a new skin available for players. This integration not only allows fans to embody their favorite character from the show, but also introduces a whole new generation of gamers to the world of Stranger Things.

At the moment, it has not been confirmed that these LEGO skins will be available officially, however, the recent leak of multiple LEGO characters does suggest that they will soon become available. With the Stranger Things skins being among some of the most popular on Fortnite, it is not surprising to see the game expand into the LEGO style of the characters. It has not been confirmed what other characters may be made into LEGO, as Eleven has been the only one revealed at this point.
When it comes to Eleven in Stranger Things, we now know that we will next see her on Netflix in 2025, as confirmed by CEO Ted Sarandos. This means. that it will have taken Stranger Things 9 years to get though 5 seasons, which has left some fans a little on the angry side, as they feel they no longer share the same care and curiosity for the outcome of the series since it has been so long.
Part of the reason for the delay, however, was not at fault of the cast or crew, but due to the SAG/AFTRA strike that lasted over 100 days, forcing production to be delayed. Now, Stranger Things 5 is set to wrap in early 2025. It has not been made clear when in 2025 the final season will drop, but likely the second half of the year due to post-production constraints.
We also know that there will be a second Eleven in the mix.
Linda Hamilton, known for her work in Terminator, will be playing Eleven, likely in a time jump scene.
While the plot of season 5 is not clear, we do know that time will play a large element. Because the cast has aged a lot since the end of season 4, the show will instantly start with a small time jump. We believe that it will be 1987 based on dates found on current set props. We also know the past will come back into play as there are casting noticed for a young Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, and so on. Knowing Linda will play Eleven means we will also see well into the future as well.
