Disney Sends Out Mass Email About Significant Change, Altering Thousands of Future Trips
Disney Cruise Line is implementing a significant change to its boarding process this fall, which could impact travelers planning to embark on select cruises. Starting later this year, the Cruise Line is adjusting its “all-aboard time,” the deadline by which all passengers must board the ship before it departs from its home port. Traditionally, Disney Cruise Line’s all-aboard time has been set at 4:00 p.m. for most sailings.
However, beginning in September, this time will be moved to 3:00 p.m. for certain cruises departing from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. Passengers were notified of this change via email, emphasizing the importance of punctuality. The email stated, “The All Aboard time for your sailing has recently changed from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
All Guests must be onboard by 3:00 p.m. Guests arriving after 3:00 p.m. or without proper citizenship documentation will be denied boarding.” This adjustment aims to streamline the boarding process and ensure timely departure. Disney Cruise Line advised passengers with independent flight arrangements to review the recommended flight-time guidelines on their website, stressing that the cruise will not wait for guests arriving late due to individual travel plans.

Despite the change in all-aboard time, the overall boarding process will remain familiar to cruisers. Passengers can begin online check-in 30 days before departure, selecting a Port Arrival Time and submitting necessary citizenship documents. According to the House of Mouse, this process will enhance the port arrival experience and can be completed or modified up to one day before sailing.
