Disney Parks fans are second-guessing their next ride on Chevrolet Test Track at EPCOT after an “equipment failure” led to a “sketchy,” “traumatizing” evacuation. One of the guests involved spoke out online after a Disney cast member attempted to prevent him from sharing his experience on the ride.

Chevrolet Test Track is one of EPCOT’s most prominent attractions, located in the World Discovery neighborhood (formerly Future World) near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, MISSION: Space, and the Space 220 restaurant. The Walt Disney World Resort ride will close later this summer for modernization, making the third version of the car-simulator attraction since it opened in 1999. The ride shares a track layout with Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park but isn’t themed after any Disney-owned intellectual property (IP).

“Cruise over to the gleaming Chevrolet Design Center to create your own virtual concept car,” Walt Disney World Resort writes. “When you’re done, buckle up in a 6-passenger ‘SIM Car’ and take it for an exhilarating spin on the test track. Rev through rough terrain and obstacles along the winding circuit. Accelerate through straightaways, maneuver switchbacks through inclement weather, hug curves banked at 50-degree angles and scale hills up to 3 stories high. Reach speeds of up to 65 miles per hour as you put your car through its paces. After each test, check the scoreboard to see how your vehicle performed!”

One group of guests won’t be first in the design studio for the new-and-improved Test Track when the attraction re-opens. Brad Felps (@bafelps22 on TikTok) spoke out this week after his family suffered two emergency stops on the outdoor portion of the theme park ride when the vehicle was at its fastest. Disney cast members told the guests an “equipment failure” caused the breakdown and evacuated them on a wooden platform after they were rescued from their ride vehicle.

“Disney World Test Track ride failure: Stuck on race track after equipment failure and emergency stoppage,” Felps wrote. “Walking along racetrack after being trapped inside of car twice.”

As Felps pointed his camera around the outdoor track, a Disney cast member audibly told him to put his phone away. (Filming is not allowed in backstage areas).

Commenters were horrified by the theme park guest’s experience.

“Test track has always been a little sketchy but not at this level…,” @disneyridereviews123 said. “Will not be riding this again.”

“Worst Experience ever….,” @j_n_f_22 replied. “Here’s a pass to ride the broken ride again…. after [you’re] traumatized.”
