News: Walt Disney World Surrenders to Sydney Sweeney's Command Overnight

Have you noticed Sydney Sweeney eating a Mickey Mouce ice cream sandwich at Magic Kingdom or dancing around in the World Showcase? Well, if you thought you saw the Euphoria star frolicking in the most magical place on earth, you would not see a look-a-like; she was really there.

Sydney Sweeney, at the young age of 26, has already made her mark in Hollywood.

She appeared in the star-studded 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie. Additionally, she has played pivotal roles in three highly acclaimed streaming series: Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, HBO’s Euphoria, and The White Lotus. She’s been actively engaged in promoting her now-on-Netflix romantic comedy, Anyone but You, alongside Glen Powell. Currently, her horror-flick Immaculate is in theaters, and today, it will only cost guests $6.66 to see it!

Today, Sweeney shared a carousel of magical photos to her Instagram feed. Based on the photos, we can see that she went to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT during her visit.

The post has already gone incredibly viral, with many complimenting the new short-hair look, and fans renaming her “Disney Sweeney”. One guest even said that Disney should “shut down” for Sydney Sweeney when she is in town. While she did not shut down the park, she certainly took it over and fans are loving it.

Many celebrity guests who do visit Disney World but wish to have some extra privacy may opt to have a VIP Tour Guide with them for the day, and some, as we have seen in the past with stars like The Kardashians, have shut down rides to have them all to themselves for safety purposes. We can see in the photo of Sweeney on Kali River Rapids that no other guests are seated with her, so her and her group were likely riding alone as well.

Recently, there were rumors that Sweeney would be starring in a film alongside Disney star Johnny Depp.

Entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider recently suggested that Sydney Sweeney might take on a role in Johnny Depp’s upcoming film, Day Drinker, based on the novel of the same name. This potential project marks Depp’s comeback to the big screen following his defamation trial. However, Sweeney addressed these “rumors” on X/Twitter by promoting Immaculate, her own blood-soaked thriller, to which Jeff still saw as plausible.

A representative for Sweeney confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she is not involved in Day Drinker.

Day Drinker, based on a story by Zach Dean, known for Fast X and Chris Pratt’s The Tomorrow War, unfolds across Spain, Portugal, and France. The narrative revolves around a mourning bartender encountering an intriguing stranger, delving into themes of “love, friendship, and revenge.”

Webb, renowned for directing 2009’s 500 Days of Summer and 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, as well as producing shows such as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Hulu’s recently concluded Death and Other Details, takes the helm. Presently, he’s involved in the production of Disney’s live-action Snow White remake, featuring Rachel Zegler and Gal Godot.
