As Stranger Things fans continue to wait with bated breath for the Duffer brothers to confirm a release window for the long-awaited Season 5, fortunately, there’s plenty of other content emerging from the Upside Down that will satiate our appetites for the time being.
The stage play, Stranger Things: The First Shadow (2023), which acts as a prequel to the long-running Netflix series and “the first part” of the upcoming fifth and final season, is currently playing on the West End and has so far wowed audiences and critics.
There are other ways to immerse yourself into Hawkins and the Upside Down. In addition to the stage play, there’s now Stranger Things VR (2024), which allows players to take control of Vecna/Henry Creel/One (Jamie Campbell Bower) in another prequel story.

More Stranger Things is coming. While Season 5 will conclude the Netflix series, it won’t be the end of the franchise (although it will be the end for certain characters).
New spinoffs will include an anime series (rumored to be titled Stranger Things: Tokyo), a “Saturday morning cartoon”-style series, and a live-action series.
One of the upcoming spinoffs may even recast certain characters from the flagship series.
The novels and comic books, which have proven popular with fans keen on delving into other mediums of storytelling from the franchise, are also likely to continue beyond Season 5. And now, a new Stranger Things comic book has been given an imminent release date.

Stranger Things: Deliver Us From Evil

This year, to celebrate the annual Free Comic Book Day (FCBD), Dark Horse Comics will be releasing a brand-new Stranger Things story titled Deliver Us From Evil, which is being released as part of a new Hellboy comic book.
Deliver Us From Evil focuses on the two Hawkins teens, Argyle and Jonathan Byers, who are played by Eduardo Franco and Charlie Heaton, respectively, in the Netflix series. The IGN exclusive shares a slideshow gallery preview and the synopsis from Dark Horse Comics:
In Stranger Things, “Deliver Me From Evil,” Argyle and Jonathan swap fantastical and scary tales as they make one last pizza delivery for the night.
Argyle isn’t expected to return for Season 5, but at least we’ll be seeing more from him in the upcoming comic book.
Stranger Things: Deliver Me From Evil will be released on Saturday, May 4. It is written by Derek Fridolfs and illustrated by Jonathan Case, with letters by Nate Piekos.

What We Know About Stranger Things Season 5

The release date for Season 5 might still be nowhere in sight, but unlike Eleven (Mille Bobby Brown) when she’s searching for Max Mayfield’s consciousness in the featureless void in the Season 4 finale “Piggyback,” we aren’t completely in the dark about the upcoming series.
We know that the first episode is titled “Chapter One: The Crawl” and that there will be eight episodes in total, bringing the show back to its pre-Season 4 format. The Duffer brothers have also compared the Season 5 finale to The Lord of the Rings in terms of scale and scope. Terminator star Linda Hamilton has also been cast.
Of course, the cast remains secretive about plot specifics; however, last year, Matt and Ross Duffer shared a snippet of the script for the first episode.
The First Shadow is now playing at the Phoenix Theater. Check out the trailer below:
