The Disneyland Resort is famous for a lot of things. At Disneyland, guests will find tons of classic experiences as well as daring new adventures, all of which are contained in two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Each one of these theme parks is great in its own unique ways, but it’s hard to beat the original Disneyland experience.

First opening in 1955, the Disneyland Resort paved the way for future theme park destinations, like Walt Disney World, as well as Six Flags, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and many more. There’s nothing more magical than a vacation at Disneyland, although choosing where to spend your time can be quite a frustrating and anxiety-inducing challenge.

Unfortunately, guests will have an easier time deciding what rides to take, with multiple iconic Disneyland attractions shutting down effective immediately.

Starting today, November 27, 2023, two high-quality attractions are closed at Disneyland, according to the My Disney Experience app.

This unexpected closure includes Indiana Jones Adventure and Incredicoaster.

Indiana Jones Adventure

Indiana Jones Adventure can be found at Disneyland Park and has become a staple of the Disneyland experience. This attraction dates back several decades now and features the iconic Indiana Jones himself, who takes guests on a spine-tingling journey in the search for great fortune.

Groundbreaking for the Indiana Jones-based attraction, originally called Temple of the Forbidden Eye, occurred in August of 1993. More than 400 Imagineers worked on the attraction’s design and construction. Just like Joe Rohde with Disney’s Pandora – The World of Avatar, this ride also had a main Imagineer who truly spearheaded the attraction, this time in the form of legendary Disney Imagineer Tony Baxter. Baxter is well known in the Disney community and is responsible for rides like Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, as well as Disneyland Paris.

Indiana Jones Adventure is set to reopen to guests on December 1, 2023.

Incredicoaster

Standing tall above other Disney roller coasters like Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is Incredicoaster. Located in Pixar Pier’s Incredibles Park neighborhood, the Incredicoaster whips Guests quickly past fun scenes inspired by The Incredibles film series.

This stunning coaster is one of very few Disney rides to feature a full inversion, making it quite intense compared to other Disney roller coasters.

Incredicoaster will reopen to guests on December 2, 2023, according to the My Disney Experience app.

While this news may come as a shock, there’s still plenty to do at Disneyland. Just recently, Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park got some serious upgrades, with the colorful land now featuring its own version of Minnie & Mickey’s Runaway Railway. At Disney California Adventure, guests can live out their superhero fantasies in Avengers Campus, a land dedicated to all things Marvel.

Here, guests will encounter all of their favorite Marvel characters, like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Thor, Loki, and many more.
