Halloween has come early in July as a magical display of new exclusive Hocus Pocus trading pins have been released in the Disney parks this week. The beloved film developed a cult-like following over the years as it was syndicated on television every year during Halloween since its failed theatrical debut in 1993. The Sanderson Sisters, Winifred (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy) and Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) have been immortalized through these limited edition pins to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the movie.

The first is a jumbo pin ($34.99) that has an animated rendering of the Sanderson Sisters’ heads as they hover mischievously over their movie title with a small cauldron below marked by ’30.’ It also presents iconic imagery of the black flame candle, the eye of Winifred’s spell book, and Billy Butcherson’s finger.

The second pin ($17.99) is a sculpted metal design with another animated depiction of the sisters. They are riding a vacuum with the talking black cat, Thackery Binx, hanging on for dear life. This pin also has the movie title and a small cauldron with ’30’ imprinted upon it.

The third collectible ($29.99) is a 10-pin set that features: Winifred Sanderson, Dani Dennison, Sarah Sanderson, Billy Butcherson the zombie, Mary Sanderson, and Thackery Binx. It also comes with the notorious flying broom, vacuum, mop and a brewing cauldron.

Disney has also materialized a series of limited edition pins from their other hauntingly infectious franchise, Haunted Mansion as well. The first pin ($29.99) colorfully depicts the acclaimed attraction’s most infamous spirits, such as the Hat Box Ghost, the Black Widow Bride, Madame Leota, The Grim Grinning Ghosts and the Hitchhiking Ghosts.

The second collectible is a Haunted Mansion Mystery pin set ($19.99) that features the murderous Bride, Constance Hatchaway, the beguiled Caretaker, the loveable Hitchhiking Ghosts and the four Grim Grinning Ghosts.

The third pin ($17.99) presents the entrance to the Haunted Mansion with the title, “Welcome Foolish Mortals” above the illustration.

Lastly, the Disney parks have released pin collectibles for classic Disney characters such as Figment, the Disney World fan-favorite purple dragon ($44.99), a black-and-white pin with the depiction of the original Pluto from 1930 ($19.99), and a blue Trader Sam’s pin ($19.99) that showcases its iconography with a tiki mug, tropical flowers and palm trees.

There is no doubt Disney is trying to capitalize on the Company’s 100th anniversary by reminding Disney fans why it has remained a global institution for entertainment with these indelible creations.

Will you add any of these to your collection? What is your favorite Disney creation?
