Say what you want about Disney’s Parks, prices, dining, or whatever, but you can’t deny that the company knows how to satisfy its sea of collectors. Whether it’s tee shirts, bags, Funko Pops, or plush Mickeys, shopDisney can create and sell products that fans will want and enjoy.

That all being said, collecting Disney memorabilia has become something of a competitive sport in which whoever has the most toys wins. This has resulted in many fans and Disney Park Guests buying and hoarding large quantities of merchandise and souvenirs to turn a profit at a later time.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and that’s precisely what @discupcake has done in her TikTok above. While this is obviously a video directed at dedicated Disney fans who simply want to add another dose of magic to their collection from the Disney100 selection on shopDisney, there’s no way scalpers aren’t saving the video and preparing their plan of attack to absolutely spam the website.

Exclusive items like the Loungefly Bag and Starbucks tumblers are all absolutely magical and marvelous, but with recent reports of scalpers hoarding merchandise and buying up all of Disney’s inventory, this seems more like fuel on the fire. It’s definitely taking a lot of joy from dedicated fans.

A Persistent Problem

Overzealous collectors have become a more prominent problem in recent reports, especially for Disney-exclusive items like pins. Can you imagine what the trading cards mentioned in the video will be like? All these sales being revealed are definitely going to have scalpers swarming the site like buzzards on a fresh kill.

Disney might put an item limit on each sale, but that doesn’t mean craftier buyers won’t find a way around the system. While the company is known for bringing out the magic in its audience, especially the adults, it can also bring out a greedier side as well.
