Disney in Trouble After FDA Recalls Products, Claims “False Advertising”

Multiple cleaning products are being recalled, with Disney making the list multiple times.

In a new report, the FDA is now recalling a total of 378 products, some of which include hand sanitizers from Disney, as COVID-19 spikes again in China.

After the initial panic that the coronavirus caused, the FDA began warning us about particular products to avoid. Now, as COVID-19 is on the rise yet again in China, the FDA is currently advising people to stop using nearly 400 different hand sanitizers.

The products originated from Mexico, the U.S., China, and other countries, with varying reasons for why the products were recalled.  There are various reasons why products are recalled.

“Consumers who have been exposed to hand sanitizer containing methanol should seek immediate treatment, which is critical for potential reversal of toxic effects of methanol poisoning,” the FDA stated regarding the recall.

“Substantial methanol exposure can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death.”

The FDA is also concerned about false advertising, stating, “Additionally, the agency is concerned with false and misleading claims for hand sanitizers, for example that they can provide prolonged protection such as 24-hours against viruses including COVID-19, since there is no evidence to support these claims.”

  • Disney Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer
  • Disney Princess Hand Sanitizer
  • Disney Frozen II Hand Sanitizer
  • Marvel Spiderman Hand Sanitizer
  • Star Wars Mandalorian Hand Sanitizer, (Green and Blue Gel formulas)

The FDA recommends people follow the guidelines of washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water in order to keep themselves clean and protected.
