Typhoon Lagoon to Close For Refurbishment as Blizzard Beach Retheme Opens

Earlier this morning, we reported that Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park would finally reopen on November 13 with newly rethemed Frozen (2013) set pieces!

Walt Disney World Resort has now confirmed that its other Water Park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, will be closed starting November 13 for a refurbishment. From Disney:

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is open through November 12, 2022—and will be closed for refurbishment beginning November 13, 2022. Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is currently closed, and will reopen on November 13, 2022.

At this time, a park reservation is not required to visit a water park; however, reservation requirements are subject to change.

Is a similar retheme in store for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park? Maybe! But it’s important to note that Walt Disney World Resort often closes one of its Water Parks for repairs during the cooler winter season when there’s less demand from Disney Parks Guests.
