Disney Genie, Genie+, and Lightning Lane were introduced years ago have been implemented at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. For $15.00 per day person at Disney World or $20.00 per person per day at Disneyland, you can skip one standby queue at a time by booking your reservation for the Lightning Lane line. You can only book one reservation at a time or one every hour.
In addition, for some of the most highly-demanded attractions, Disney Guests can purchase an a-la-carte Lightning Lane entrance access for a price that varies each day.
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, which is located at Disney California Adventure Park, is one of the two attractions at the Park that are only available through a-la-carte Lightning Lane purchase. The other is Radiator Springs Racers.
Because of the popularity of the ride, the attraction can experience standby wait times of easily more than 100 minutes, and this makes purchasing the Lightning Lane ticket very enticing.
However, several Disneyland Guests are claiming that the Lightning Lane is causing the standby line queue to be a lot longer than its posted wait time.
User @themeparkmom shared a rant on TikTok in which they said they waited more than two hours to get to the preshow room for WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. The ride had a posted time of 75 minutes.

They say that when they finally got up to the preshow room and had waited two hours, there were about six people from the standby queue who got to go in the room and about 30 from the Lightning Lane.

Many Disney Guests have expressed their displeasure with the Disney Genie, Genie+, and Lightning Lane services, claiming that rides were selling out early in the day and that massive lines for the Lightning Lane queues have still forced them to wait.Â
In addition, both Disney World and Disneyland have had glitches with the app at times, but many of those have seemingly been worked out over the last few weeks.
