The nature of theme parks is that malfunctions occur daily on rides.

It’s very rare that a Guest goes to any theme park and doesn’t hear of some kind of delay on a ride, even if it’s just a slight mishap.

This Universal Orlando Resort Guest, however, had some of the worst luck possible.

Twitter user @ac_museum shared a video in which they were broken down on The Simpsons Ride not just once, but twice in a row.

The Simpson Krustyland ride broke down not once, but two times in a row while I was on it. @UniversalORL

As seen in the video, the ride cart has lifted off the ground and is suspended there without movement. The big screen that riders watch– and typically shows the inside of a roller coaster as you ascend into the movie theater area–  is completely dark. Of course, Universal Studios Team Members would have safely evacuated the Guests if the ride itself couldn’t be restarted.

Hopefully the Guest did eventually get to experience the fun of The Simpsons Ride. At the very least, they got to see some clever and unique videos and signs in the line queue.

Universal Orlando’s official description of The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Florida reads:

Crash Through Krustyland.

Join The Simpsons™ on a trip to Krustyland. Grab a seat on an indoor simulated rollercoaster ride, where you’ll careen and crash through the park with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie in an over-the-top non-stop exhilarating adventure. Keep an eye out for cameos from some of Springfield’s fan-favorite characters as you adventure through the town.

Universal Orlando Resort is currently in the midst of one of the busiest weeks of the year. The Resort just recently made revisions to its mask policy, now mandating that face-coverings must be worn in all public indoor areas.

What do you think of this misfortune for the Universal Orlando Guest? Do you have a similar story?
