Aerial Photos Show HUGE Developments at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

in Walt Disney World

Disney Parks are known for their robust theming, grand hotels, and incredible attractions. Home to theme parks like EPCOT, Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World Resort is also the place to visit the Disney water parks,  Disney’s Blizzard Beach, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

While the former has been open for a while, the latter is yet to welcome back Disney Guests after a long extended closure. That may all be about to change…

As the Walt Disney World Resort celebrates its 50th anniversary with new shows like Disney Enchantment fireworks at Cinderella Castle, Disney KiteTails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Harmonious at EPCOT, Guests are experiencing the Disney Park like never before.

Despite the huge crowds, Guests are celebrating The World’s Most Magical Celebration in style while also navigating the all-new Disney Genie interactive vacation tool. The Parks also debuted Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Selections which allows Guests to book speedy access to their favorite attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure for an additional fee on top of their ticket.

Genie aside, for those visitors wanting to escape the Parks for a day, Disney World boasts Disney Springs as well as two ambitious aquatic adventures — Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. The latter has been open for some time although recently it was so empty it almost looked abandoned.

For Typhoon Lagoon, the Park has been left Guest-less for many months due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic. Multiple signs indicate that this fan-favorite Disney World location is gearing up for a long-awaited opening. Permits have been filed and more recently Disney themselves hinted that Typhoon Lagoon — home to Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga, and the popular Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool — may open to ticket holders amid the 50th anniversary.

But now, thanks to aerial photographs it seems Typhoon Lagoon is gearing towards an imminent opening with the first image showing a huge development for the water park. Bioreconstruct took to Twitter to share the series of images:

Look close in this aerial photo of Miss Adventure Falls in Typhoon Lagoon. Water is running.

Water is running! After being drained for so long and then finally filled, the fact that the slides seem ready to welcome Guests after such a long period is monumental in itself.

In this aerial photo, tubes are staged for Castaway Creek lazy river in Typhoon Lagoon. Water is flowing at Storm Slides. Lounge chairs are ready for guests.

Bioreconstruct also shares the following:

Disney has not given any official date for the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon but with water flowing and staged seating, it can only be a matter of time.
