MODOK, or the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, recently got his own Hulu series starring Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille, Agents of SHIELD) as the titular character. The Hulu series was written and produced by Jordan Blum (Community) and shocked Marvel fans by making a somewhat lame character cool and funny by embracing his truly ridiculous nature.,
A new report from The Direct says that MODOK will make his official debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase Four, in Ant-Man 3. They have also reported that although Jim Carrey has been rumored to be coming to the MCU soon and would be a perfect cast for MODOK, he will not be playing him.
Who is MODOK?
MODOK was an employee of AIM or Advanced Idea Mechanics, the criminal organization run by Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) in Iron Man 3 (2013). He first appeared in Tales of Suspense #94 (1967) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. His real name is George Tarleton, and after AIM experimented with the Cosmic Cube, they turned George into a super-intelligent being. As MODOK, his superior intelligence allows him to predict the outcomes of any situation.
The results left him with a massive head that his body could not support. S0, he lives in a hoverchair called the Doomsday Chair. He also wears a headband that allows him to focus his mental powers into energy beams, generate force fields, and telepathy. However, his appearance has led him to receive such nicknames as Big Head and Chairman.
