Disney World is constantly finding ways to innovate their theme park’s as well as their Resorts. With so much incoming technology available for Imagineers to play with, we are seeing amazing new rides being developed and more detail being added to all of the new additions at Walt Disney World.
A great example of this is the overall attraction of Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which takes the dark ride style of an attraction to a new, and much more thrilling level. But that is not the only way continuously updated technology is progressing at Disney World.

Disney Genie was recently added to the My Disney Experience app, which is a new way for Guests to plan their day. Disney Genie is meant for those who are unsure on what they should do while at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and gives them a variety of specifically catered options. On top of that, Disney Genie also has a Disney Genie+ feature. For $15.00 per day per Guest, you can skip the long standby queue by making a Lightning Lane reservation (new FastPass) and returning at that time.

At each Park, however, there are two attractions that Guests would need to purchase a separate Lightning Lane ticket for if they wanted to skip those lines. Those attractions are:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- Frozen Ever After
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Avatar Flight of Passage
- Expedition Everest
Recently, Disney announced that starting today, four of the “a la carte” attractions would be included in the overall Disney Genie+ experience for Guests, at no added cost! Expedition Everest, Space Mountain, Frozen Ever After, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway were the four rides to be included; however, it seems that things did not go as planned this morning when the rollout was instructed to happen.

As Guests logged in at 7:00 a.m. EST, they quickly found out that Space Mountain, Frozen Ever After, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway were not showing as available to book, even though they were meant to be included in the package for now, as per Disney.
Disney Fan in Nebraska (@DisFan_Nebraska) Tweeted photo proof of the system’s malfunction:
Great work @WaltDisneyWorld ensuring the 4 rides downgraded to Genie+ would be available at 7am today… Oh wait, only 1 available.

It seems likely that this was just a system glitch, as this is something we have been dealing with when it comes to Disney Genie, not only at Disney World but also at Disneyland Resort, which recently rolled out the feature with technical hiccups. Hopefully, the issues is quickly resolved so that Guests can utilize the paid system as promised!
