Disneyland Paris, which Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios encompass, is currently undergoing a ton of change as it both expands and gets ready for the 30th anniversary celebration. Walt Disney Studios is adding a massive addition that will include Star Wars, Marvel, and Frozen, as well as their very own Avengers Campus, which will be the first section to open in the Park. One of the biggest changes that we have seen is on Sleeping Beauty Castle, which was covered by a box facade for months. Recently, Disney began to uncover the castle to reveal a stunning, magical masterpiece.

One attraction is also going to see quite the transformation to refurbish both the ride and the building structure. Today, Disneyland Paris will indefinitely shut down “it’s a small world.” On the website, we can see that the attraction will remain shut down throughout the rest of the year. Still, as the calendar does not show us too far into the future, we cannot be certain on how long this refurbishment will last, but it seems to be projected for around a year or more.

DLP Report (@DLPReport) took to Twitter to show that construction walls have quickly gone up around the attraction.

Walls are up around “it’s a small world” for a refurbishment which, if fully executed, may last up to a year. Beyond the Attraction itself, we’ll miss the huge capacity it normally provides to park operations.

Thankfully, the ride will one day return to Disneyland Paris; however, it seems that it will be quite a while before we do see it again. At Walt Disney World Resort, we recently saw the attraction undergo a colorful transformation for the 50th anniversary, and Disneyland Paris Resort added their classic holiday overlay.

Disney describes the attraction as:

‘it’s a small world’: The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed
Sing along to the classic anthem of world peace during a delightful musical boat tour hosted by the children of the world. From a colourful dock, climb aboard a cosy boat and set sail along the Seven Seaways Waterway on a 10-minute journey.

Amid a vibrant, multi-coloured backdrop exquisitely crafted out of papier-mâché, glitter and fabric, behold a cast of almost 300 traditionally dressed dolls from nearly every corner of the globe sing a simple song in their native language about universal harmony and dance. Travel to all 7 continents and, by journey’s end, see for yourself that it truly is a small world after all.
