Cooler weather and all things pumpkin-spiced is upon us! With Halloween just days away, we’re getting in the SPOOKtacular spirit with costume planning and pumpkin carving. Of course, Halloween doesn’t look the same to everyone. While we may be enjoying the comfort of our homes or a fun visit to Disney Parks and/or Universal, this story stopped us in our tracks. An Orlando high school student is making headlines for all the right reasons as she makes superhero costumes for adorable babies in the hospital.

If you’ve never experienced a hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), you should know it’s an experience that sits on your heart as you watch these little ones enter this great big world. These NICU babies may be small, but they are mighty! And, an Orlando high school student decided to do something special for each baby that really has our eyes welling up.
These Orlando hospital babies and their parents are receiving some sunshine as 11th grader, Rachel Maretsky, delivers 110 superhero capes as Halloween costumes for NICU babies at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.

ClickOrlando reported the news about Miss Rachel and the talents she has shared for 5 years in a row!
“The patient families and staff are delighted with this festive tradition each year and hope Rachel will continue with another donation to finish out her senior year in 2022,” a hospital official said in a news release.
As you can see in the images, Rachel worked hard on these adorable superhero costumes for these littlest of superheroes!

It’s not always good when you see a High School student hit the news, but in this case, we must say well done to Rachael! Her work doesn’t go unnoticed. We need more superheroes like you!
