Even though the Walt Disney World Resort has received new updates for the 50th anniversary celebration, one location at the Disney Park is actually being demolished. The World’s Most Magical Celebration brought with it the debut of two nighttime spectaculars, a daytime show, and a plethora of new merchandise.
Meanwhile, over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, one ride is slowly being flattened.
DinoLand U.S.A. is home to the fan-favorite attraction, DINOSAUR, as well as TriceraTop Spin, and the carnival-style area, Fossil Fun Games. Last year, fellow DinoLand U.S.A. coaster, Primeval Whirl permanently closed at the Orlando Disney theme park and since then demolition has begun at the Disney Resort.
Recently, updates were shared that Primeval Whirl was continuing to be demolished with most of one of the tracks almost gone. Thanks to new images, we can see what state the demolition site is currently in.
Sharing to Twitter, @bioreconstruct, highlighted the demolition of Primeval Whirl.

Most of the Primeval Whirl theming is still standing with the focus on the destruction of the coaster track, as noted by the bioreconstruct:

And then in a seemingly meta interpretation of what is happening to the Disney World attraction, these photos show the demolished track with a dinosaur character holding a sign that reads “The End is Near.”

Primeval Whirl’s demolition is happening amid the rollout of Disney’s new interactive technology, Disney Genie. The tool also brings with it the arrival of Disney Genie+ and the Lightning Lane attraction entrances at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can now pay extra to ride attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
It is not yet known what will replace Primeval Whirl at DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. For the time being, Guests visiting the prehistoric area at the Walt Disney World Resort can opt to ride the popular DINOSAUR dark ride instead or experience the new, divisive, daytime show Disney KiteTails.
